@IanJon407@Rod__Mason@RachelReevesMP Same here. A former colleague moaned about the removal of his WFA meaning he didn't have as much spending money for his christmas holiday to Tenerife.
It should never have been paid directly to people and should've been credited to their energy accounts instead.
@gill8_brian@RachelReevesMP I know someone who uses it for their spending money for their Christmas holiday in Tenerife. Pay it directly to their energy supplier instead
@NannyBabe001 @SamTBaron @RachelReevesMP And those rich pensioners are now getting their WFA back. £35K PA is an awful lot more than most working people earn, and with far fewer outgoings.
@nffc1966@Rod__Mason@RachelReevesMP And pay it directly to the their energy supplier. Too many see it as a cash bonus to go towards their winter holiday spending money. Not saying the poorer pensioners shouldn't get it, but the threshold is way too high.
@IanJon407@Rod__Mason@RachelReevesMP Exactly. £35k is significantly more than most working people earn. Add in their inflation busting pension increases and the boomers are laughing in their winter holiday cocktails at the rest of us.
@Rosetti83700607@Rod__Mason@RachelReevesMP Pensioners are hardly being rinsed. They've been protected from austerity for 15 years, received above inflation increases in pensions, had all their benefits protected, and now those receiving significantly more than working people will receive cash for their winter holidays.
@tommo_king @RachelReevesMP Millions of those elderly people don't need it. Meanwhile working people and the disabled are getting screwed left right and centre by these wannabe-Tories
@RachelReevesMP How to make an unfair situation even more unfair eh? Most working age people don't earn £35k, but yeah give pensioners receiving that amount, with far fewer outgoings some cash. You can always kick the disabled and public sector workers some more to pay for it.
@BladeoftheS There’s no such thing as a ‘Brexit Benefit’ for ordinary people, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying, insane or part of the richest 1%
