@raiderhogsquid@osnsiv@DNeckel19 5) Metrics regarding how a team plays vice strict binary outcome matter
6) The ACC had at most 5 deserving resumes (State won its way in)
7) performances by UNC, Duke, Clemson, state don’t make more ACC teams deserving of bids, like performance of UVA isn’t argument for less
@raiderhogsquid@osnsiv@DNeckel19 I think we can hold multiple truths at the same time.
1) Winning in conf (esp on the road is hard and means something)
2) ACC has elite teams at the top every year
3) The bottom half of the ACC is not as strong as previous years
4) Unbalanced scheduling means who you play matters
How did the number 1186 come about? @UVACoachOConnor explains...

@Zach_Carey_ Not sure I can have Jerome and Brogdon that high. Maybe Brogdon since he was UVA's leading scorer while locking down the other teams leading scorer. But take those guys off their teams and they're still very good teams.
Despite clear evidence from @BennettConlin of how bookmakers value Commonwealth teams, Tyler Tailgate here says VaTech would be favored on a neutral over JMU...because eye test 👀
@BennettConlin Power rankings, Bennett. Predictive metrics are great, but they don’t take into account what the eyes see on the field. The best athletes in the commonwealth are in Blacksburg, VA and it’s not even close.
@shane49006@BennettConlin I was pointing to his the comp of lines when facing UVA. Tyler switched gears very quickly when Bennett pointed out that JMU was laying -6.5 compared to -2.5 for the Hokies. His closing argument of “the best athletes in the Commonwealth are in Blacksburg” was what really got me.
