As early as 6:00am on July 1st, 2026, I had this strong urge to go to my usual prayer spot at the Lagoon Waterfront in @UnilagNigeria
By 8:00am, the feeling became even stronger. I told God, “Baba God, you know I’m supposed to be at work. I promise I’ll go once I’m done for the day.”
Then by 4:00pm, the urge came again. This time, I didn’t hesitate. I packed my bag and headed straight to UNILAG.
By the time I got there, I was exhausted and very hungry. So I stopped at @item7go_ to grab a shawarma, fresh yogurt, and a bottle of water. I figured I needed some strength before praying.
As soon as I finished eating, a security officer of the school walked up to me and asked what I was doing alone by the waterfront.
I told him I usually come there to spend time with God through prayers and worship.
Before I could even finish talking, he said: “If you don’t mind… please pray for me.”
My mind fess cut for 30 seconds. 😂 I even asked him to repeat himself.
Baba oni baba simply said, “Please pray for me.”
So I held his hands and began to pray.
What happened next still amazes me.
Before God and man, I honestly cannot remember anything I prayed about. The moment I said, “Let’s pray,” it was as though I completely zoned out. The next thing I remember was saying, “Thank You, Jesus, for answering our prayers.”
As he was leaving, he kept thanking me and said every single thing I prayed about was exactly what had been weighing heavily on his heart.
Then, just as he turned to leave, I felt a strong nudge in my spirit to give him something.
I reached into my pocket, brought out ₦5,000, handed it to him, and simply said: “The Holy Spirit asked me to give you this.”
The man immediately broke down in tears right in front of me.
That was the moment it all made sense.
God wasn’t calling me to that place because of me.
He wanted me there because someone was waiting for an answer to his prayer.
Sometimes, when God keeps nudging you to go somewhere or do something, it may not even be about you.
You might just be the answer to someone else’s prayer.
Hallelujah 🙌
Eight months without a vacation. No salary.
Instead of giving up, I made a decision to survive with dignity. I started e-hailing, driving for Bolt and inDrive just to keep going.
Then everything changed.
My former boss called me to help with a crane installation project. The pay was ₦12,500 per day. I accepted immediately and paused my driving job.
One month later, we completed the project.
As I was preparing to return to e-hailing, my boss called again:
“Come to the office on Monday. A new company needs an Electrical Technician to handle the installation of an entire plant.”
I went, negotiated the contract, and we agreed on ₦20,000 per day until the project was completed.
For five weeks, I gave the job everything I had.
Then something happened that I never expected.
The expatriate project manager saw my work, spoke with the company on my behalf, and personally recommended me for full-time employment.
Today, I celebrate this win.
This journey reminded me that no honest work is ever wasted. Every experience prepared me for the opportunity that changed my story.
Never be ashamed of where you start. Stay humble, keep learning, and give your best in every assignment. The opportunity you’ve been praying for may be watching you before you even know it.
God’s timing is always perfect. 🙏❤️
Ibadan State Govt needs to beam their spotlight at other parts of Oyo State.
No wonder all that is ever mentioned in terms of development is always Ibadan.
Shame plant with the botanical name Mimosa pudica. We call it pàdímọ́/patanmọ́ in Yoruba (close your laps) because it closes up when you touch or shake it and reopens later.
According to scientists, the rapid folding is thought to deter herbivores (by making the plant look less appetizing or shaking off insects) and may reduce water loss or overheating
This is one plant our researchers need to work more on. Previous research has shown that it majorly possesses antibacterial, antivenom, antifertility, anticonvulsant, antidepressant, aphrodisiac, and various other pharmacological activities.
