@climatebabes Ah yes, let's alienate the 84% of people in the world who are religious from the climate struggle by calling them insane- that will help our goal!
We need to talk about the #ShellEffect
Two hundred years of extraction, toxicity, disease, war, and corruption left across communities and territories.
Being artwashed by public institutions like @NEMOamsterdam (1/2).
Today, @NEMOamsterdam reopens after quietly breaking financial ties with @Shell during lockdown.
Let’s remember the history of toxic sponsorship. Let's remember the #ShellEffect
We call for a commitment to rule out fossil fuel sponsorship now and in the future. #StopArtwashing
BIG NEWS! Amsterdam’s Science Museum has ended its partnership with @Shell! 👏🥳💥
We hope London’s @sciencemuseum has realised how isolated & out of step it’s looking. Time to #dropShell, NOW!
Congratulations to @FFcultureNL for another huge win for #fossilfreeculture 🤗
.@christs_college is divesting fully from fossil fuels🥳🥳
But here's the rub: they won't do it for a decade. That's 10 more years of California, Australia and the Amazon burning (if the Amazon isn't savannah by then) and 10 more years of sacrificing the Global South. Great job.
Our new ethical ranking of @Cambridge_Uni colleges is now online! And guess who's at the bottom...🙈👀
(Hint: it's Trinity College and the University of Cambridge, although if the Uni divests tomorrow, we'll think about moving it up😜)

Although there is serious room for improvement in the University's announcement, this is still a significant step forwards that wouldn't have happened without the sacrifice of many activists from several groups - congratulations to you all! 🥳🎉Direct action works!
Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919) “Protest:
To sin by silence when we should protest,
makes cowards out of men. The human race
has climbed on protest…
The few who dare, must speak and speak again
To right the wrongs of many.
Combined with growing urbanization, there’s not much space left for animals to thrive. I love the camaraderie, the hope, and the Samba vibes at XR marches. Plus I get a prime view from the shoulder of one of my fellow rebels!
My favourite chant is 'a plant-based world is a lovely world' from Animal REbellion because, if more humans cut down on animal products, less land will be cleared for cattle grazing and fewer of my fellow lizards will die. Even in the UK, 72% of land is managed for agriculture.
Main text: "I rebel because climate change and habitat loss have killed my family and I demand a better future for all of nature. I've been on many marches since joining XR in April last year an am a regular at the Fridays for the Future Strikes too.
