Fantastic to see dementia friendly seating at our National Path Demonstration Site. This is part of ongoing work funded by Dementia Services Development Trust to raise awareness about how we can make our shared open spaces more accessible for people living with dementia.

Thanks to Crystal Peaks Shopping Mall for dropping off a couple of old pallets for us to recycle into a bench. Our aim is to put 6 or so, around the park so that more people can enjoy Waterthorpe Park.

Just a reminder that the Playing Field is STILL CLOSED. The Parish Council is under the guidance from SSDC and the government, and as it is an enclosed play area it must not be used. This includes the skate ramps, swings picnic tables and grass areas.

We are still working on delivering a wonderrful green space for our entire village to enjoy once this #stayathome period is over.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak our plan for installs over summer won't be possible. We have several grants in the works, but we are not sure what funding opportunities will be available after this period of financial stress on charities, businesses and governments. #StayAtHome

BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER: We have had to sadly cancel our next scheduled breakfast for the 17th of May. Our events later in the year are still scheduked pending Government restrictions.
