Keir Starmer has gone — but we will never forget the role his government played in the greatest crime of our time.
Today, I re-presented my Bill for an independent inquiry into Britain’s complicity in genocide.
Marlon Brando on why he was so depressed after seeing his performance for the first time in "On the Waterfront" (1954):
"When "On the Waterfront" (1954) came out, a lot of people credited me with a marvelous job of acting and called the [Taxicab] scene moving. But it was actor-proof, a scene that demonstrated how audiences often do much of the acting themselves in an effectively told story. It couldn't miss because almost everyone believes he could have been a contender, that he could have been somebody if he'd been dealt different cards by fate, so when people saw this in the film, they identified with it. That's the magic of theater; everybody in the audience became Terry Malloy, a man who'd had the guts not only to stand up to the Mob, but to say, "I'm a bum. Let's face it; that's what I am. . . ."
On the day Gadg [Kazan] showed me the completed picture, I was so depressed by my performance I got up and left the screening room. I thought I was a huge failure, and walked out without a word to him. I was simply embarrassed for myself.
None of us are perfect, and I think Gadg has done great injury to others, but mostly to himself. I am indebted to him for all that I learned. He was a wonderful teacher."

P.S: On this day, 72 years ago, "On the Waterfront" (1954) was released in Japan.
The Gaia were a prominent all-female hardcore punk band from Tokyo active in the 1990s. They released several influential projects, including Kick Up Ass!! and This One, before disbanding around 1999.

Today marks 85 years since Nazi Germany launched Operation Barbarossa against the Soviet Union. On June 22, 1941, millions of Soviet citizens rose to defend their country in what would become the deadliest chapter of the Second World War.
Now, just like Stalin predicted in 1943, Germany and parts of Europe have once again chosen confrontation with Russia over coexistence. This time Berlin is unable to challenge Russia directly and is backing a proxy conflict instead. But, just like 85 years ago, Russia’s cause is still just and victory will be ours!
It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7
In 1964, Che Guevara enters the CBS News building with his signature, confident walk and leaves with the same undeniable presence, drawing all eyes on him.
This is not just someone walking into a building, it is a rare moment that reflects the spirit of an era, the stance of an ideology, and how one person can command the scene without saying a word.
Every step he takes, every look, every detail in his posture is part of the aura that turned him into a global symbol.
