The Resident Services Department volunteered at @rfbo, packing over 17,867 meals for children.

RFBO is one of OCHA’s cherished partners—RFBO pantries at several of our sites provide needed resources, improving the quality of life for many of our residents, especially our more senior residents.

Last week, Councilman Camal Pennington and OCHA Board Chair Rocky Chavez toured our Jeltz and McGuire Senior Centers.

We took the tour group through our on-site food pantries, stocked by the @rfbo, and shared more about our resident services to aid our senior neighbors in aging with grace and dignity.

Annette Jacobi, Vice Chair of the OCHA Board of Commissioners, and members of Martha’s Giving Circle (MGC) joined residents at Dorset Place Veteran Community for a special Veterans Day dinner, provided by Charleston’s and members of MGC.

In addition to dinner, they brought new bookshelves as well as donated books (donated from Father Joe Jacobi’s collection), games and puzzles to help fill the beloved Dorset game room. After dinner, the group played bingo with residents, and winners picked from assorted prize baskets.

Will Rogers Courts residents and local partners came together for a festive neighborhood day and to unveil the CNI Westwood Exchange Transformation Plan.

Residents enjoyed music, games, free food, face painting, jump houses and connecting with their neighbors.

This fun wouldn’t have been possible without our partners, including All 4 Food, @OKYouthExpo, the Pork Council, @okgoodwill, @LilyfieldOK, Representative Arturo Alonso-Sandoval, Senator Michael Brooks, and the Community Action Agency Head Start.

Navy veteran Bobby O, a new resident at Dorset Place Veteran Community, praised the new site for providing struggling Veterans a soft place to land.

Bobby O’s story is one of so many—OKC’s most recent Point-in-Time count included 128 Veterans experiencing homelessness.

Today, we welcomed leaders from across the city, including Mayor @davidfholt and Councilman Pennington, to officially celebrate the opening of Dorset Place Veteran Community with a ribbon cutting.

While the first wave of residents began moving in earlier this summer, today is a recognition of the important partnership between @maps4okc, HUD-VASH, Areawide Aging Agency, Community Enhancement Corporation and OCHA, which made it possible to give back to Veterans in our community.

Dorset Place Veteran Community is uniquely dedicated to offering permanent or supportive housing to Veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness in OKC.

Recently, we were proud to see residents organize and attend the Resident Council Meeting at Reding Senior Center Community, facilitated by Karen Vanterpool! The meeting had a great turnout, and we look forward to seeing the impact this council has on its community.

Recently, we said ‘Welcome Home’ to the first wave of residents at Dorset Place Veteran Community.

Danforth Senior Center residents are getting in on the summer fun with a lively game of beach ball volleyball.

Our endlessly creative and dedicated team put this activity together to keep residents out of the heat, while still helping them stay active.

This summer, at our annual picnic, the OCHA team celebrated 60 years of providing affordable housing in Oklahoma City.

We used this event as an opportunity to thank our dedicated staff for their year-round hard work and unveiled our 60th Anniversary Timeline, which showcases important milestones and people who’ve shaped our work.

OCHA is seeking proposals from qualified residential developers, non-profit entities, property owners, landlords or other interested home buyers. 20 vacant single-family homes and 3 vacant lots are currently for sale.
