Accessibility to transit in the rural community is critical to support affordable housing. Today the 3 year pilot of County Transit was unveiled by Quinte Access and PEC providing dependable public transportation between all major points in Prince Edward County.
The average household spends 45.9% of their monthly income on housing. 15% of all renters spend in excess of 50% of their income on housing. 44% of all households renting spend more than they can afford on keeping a roof over their head.....
There has never been a greater need then the present for affordable housing in Prince Edward County. PECAHC is currently in discussion with various parties on moving forward with the development of affordable housing in response to this critical issue.
