On Scene at the Woodlands mall. Can confirm that there is an extremely heavy law enforcement presence including state troopers and @MCTXSheriff along with security. They are investigating a possible threat to the mall complex
Heavy law enforcement presence around the Woodlands Mall, investigating threats made to the mall. There has been similar calls in the region and out of an abundance of caution law enforcement is investigating but believe this could be related to a swatting call and not a threat. I’m at 990 Cypress Station Dr., where two people were shot and killed around 8 PM tonight, including a woman in her 70s. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this as a double homicide. Watch the attached video for more details.
I’m at Jesse H. Jones Park, where a body has been discovered in a retaining pond. Investigators from Harris County Constable Precinct 4 and the Humble Police Department are on the scene. So far, the cause of death remains unknown. Authorities believe the body has only been there for a few hours and that the victim is a male in his late 20s or early 30s. I’m waiting for a detective to provide more details.
What I find really impressive is how involved Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez @SheriffEd_HCSO is in so many cases and incidents across the county. This isn’t the first time I’ve met with him at crime scenes, including shootings. He consistently shows up and interacts with even the lowest-ranking patrol deputies, which I think is remarkablesomething you’d never see in LA.
