Heads up if you run Google Ads for a business that has its locations hooked up. Starting October 12th, Google's going to crawl your website, find coupons and deals on it, and just attach them to your ads on its own, and it's on by default. And I mean, think about what's actually sitting on most small business websites right now, like that 20% off banner from a spring sale nobody ever took down. That could end up in your ad, under your name, and you never typed it. If you don't want that, go to the account-level automated assets settings, find Automated Promotions, and turn it off. Takes like thirty seconds.
I'm starting to think Anthropic has no image generation model on purpose.
Future models won't need one. Instead of guessing pixels, they'll write the code that draws the image: SVG for graphics, HTML for layouts, Python for charts, 3D engines for realistic scenes.
Images made from code are precise and editable, and the text is always right.
The obvious pushback is photorealism. But movies and video games already create realistic images entirely from code. A model good enough at driving those tools gets there too.
Why build an image model when your coding model can become one?
I keep catching myself doing this thing where I think I'm researching a problem, but I already decided the answer and I'm just hunting for stuff that agrees with me. Like my brain draws a little circle around one theory and then only looks inside that circle. And the wild part is it feels like diligence. It feels smart. Meanwhile the real answer might be sitting outside the circle the whole time and I never look, because looking elsewhere would mean admitting I started in the wrong place.
If you own a Tesla, and you're at supercharger. Something dangerous comes your way and you needed to get away. Before you were kind of stuck.
Now, you have a way to get away to safety. A lot of people were advocating for this.
