- as #Hamilton and #Leclerc complained about understeer. The gamble could have been to switch to the S which given RUS stint could have probably worked but who knows!
#RedBull was consistently behind the top 3 teams: #Verstappenβs stint on the H was a nightmare π΅βπ«

#BahrainGp strategy recap: ποΈπ§ππ
#Piastri was just quicker on any tyre and in any race condition.
#Norris charged through the traffic and showed pace especially on the last stint.
#Russell did great in the first stint, but in the middle one accused 0.3s/lap from PIA -
- #Ferrari chose a different strategy which could have probably paid off had the SC not come out: the first stint on the M was slower but it was expected. The second one was the most encouraging as they could match PIAβs lap times. The final stint on the H was not incredible-
- the performance will come but so far the updates seem to be working. They were quite unfortunate with the SC, perhaps had it not come out they could have chosen the softs for the final stint.
#RedBull and #Verstappen struggled a lot on every tyre and were consistently slower

#Mclaren and #Piastri were untouchable!
Super race by #Russell! Great recovery by #Norris, but too many mishaps here and thereβ¦
Solid race by #Ferrari as both #Leclerc and #Hamilton showed pace which is the most important thing -
- while #Hamilton had to limit the performance gap given his hard tyre at the start of the race ποΈπ―π΅π
In the second stint, the performance gap between #Verstappen, #Mclaren and the rest became more evident.
Again, super job by Antonelli who was the quickest of the field

The race pace of the top teams (and #Verstappen) during todayβs #JapaneseGp in both stints.
As visible during the first one the top 3 were very close in terms of pace and #Leclerc was not far behind the leaders.
#Antonelli had a longer and very consistent stint -
The #JapaneseGp in numbers ποΈππ―π΅
The top 3 had essentially matched race paces, while #Mercedes and #Ferrari were behind lapping around 0.2/0.3 s/lap slower.
Very nice job by #Hadjar and #Bearman who scored points after a strong quali πͺ

By the way, the #Verstappen set pole without scoring any purple sector: he just put the lap together, while the #McLaren drivers had some mishaps here and there. As visible in the sector times table the ideal pole is all papaya π€£ποΈπ§‘

Hereβs the lap times evolution throughout qualifying: You can notice how steep is the line that links Q1 and Q2, meaning the track evolution was mega between the first two sessions.
The steepest line from Q2 to Q3 (= greatest lap time improvemen) is of course Max π½

FP2 was pretty disrupted by a series of crashes and red flags! But here you have the full results of the session and the data from quali simulation
#Mclaren looks comfortably ahead, behind the grid looks packed!

In the two plots below we offer a comparison of the race paces and the lap times trends of the top teams #Mclaren, #RedBull (actually only Max π ), #Ferrari and #Mercedes.
You can see MCL was not incredibly dominant, but overall the most consistent. Ferrari only found pace in-
- the middle part of the race, especially with LEC , before losing out not only to RUS but also to VER.
#Hamilton was the only driver of the top teams who performed a 2-stopper hence explained the quick final stint.
The steep climb of NORβs plot is the result of the -
The #ChineseGp saw #Mclaren take a dominant 1-2 despite a close final scare with #Russell due to #Norrisβ brake issues.
