@puppichats okay? i dont know anyone here or care to pick sides or back other peoples claims. i gave a source for my own. are you trying to make a point or did you just want to make a snarky comment

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

say what you will about clans of the forest, but i thought the decision to make the "trainer cat" a super smart gorilla from the moon AND giving him a tesla canon and deployable barrier was a bizzarre creative choice

Wolfquest came out like 20 years ago and MOGS it

The developers arent known to make good games. The have lots of games.

You should be critical because its asking for money from you. Theres no excuse here. And if its for children they absolutely deserve quality

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Miremiremee hopefully!! im hoping the modding scene is able to breathe some life into the game

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

a friend of mine posted a translation of an interview for the devs of clans of the forest, where they admited to not only using AI for research, but to using gen AI for concept art during the development stage. #warriors #wctwt #warriorcats https://t.co/H4SI9EArtS

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Miremiremee and im also extremely concerned with the fact that this game had *less than a year* of development time, that alongside with the bizzare game design choices screams vibecoding to me, but that is 100% speculation

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Miremiremee i agree! im honestly more pressed about the fact that their usage of ai was lied about and obscured than the fact that they used it for research. my biggest issue with the gameis its current state as far as gameplay and story go

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

i think people are missing the fact that this game had less than a year of development time as well? is that not insane?

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

TL;DR make of this what you will

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Miremiremee also i dont really use twitter, so its very likely i missed discussions about this. if you have anything about the authenticity of this article (aside from the source being pro ai which i dont. really think adds anything) id love to see! i posted this for a friend

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Miremiremee i am definitely not saying the final product has gen ai, just that it was used during development and lied about

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

TO CLARIFY: everything in the final game (to my knowledge) IS human made, however that doesnt erase the influence AI had on the story development or artistic style during this stage of development

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute for a 20 year old franchise owned by a 2 billion dollar company, with a community full of artists and game developers that have already made better products that express the kind of thing they enjoy from the series, i think its fair to be disappointed with the final product

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute like, characters just die off screen with no cutscene or explaination, no one tells you what happened and theyre like "That guy sucked anyway, im glad youre alive though" and its just. like. nothing 😭 kids deserve better than that

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute mature isnt really what im talking about here! when i say substance, i mean an actual coherent story to follow, characters to interact with that dont feel like unfinished placeholders with like 3 lines of dialogue. it doesnt really connect to what people Like about the series

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute and the gameplay loop doesnt really support that kind of daily play either. i actually would have killed if it was closer to animal crossing, like a daily thing u check into and support your clan, but... its a two hour campaign. its just really confusing game design

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute it feels really out of touch with the overall WC community, honestly. i dont have any issue with an rpg directed towards kids! i love that, if anything, but kids still deserve media to have substance :( it just feels like a heartless cashgrab with no real love to the fans

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute i paid 30 bucks for a game like path of titans, and it had considerably less funding with a far greater product. i wouldnt expect a game like this to be funded by harpercollins of all people

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute like. its pocket camp, essentially. its warrior cats pocket camp, but its a one time purchase on steam. its just weird to me

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute my point is that its still designed like its supposed to have microtransactions, (especially the crafting thing) but there arent any and it just makes the gameplay incoherent to me

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute not to mention some people didnt even recieve the dlc with their preorders

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute in my opinion theres not a world where this game is worth 30-45 dollars, im sorry 😭 the 12-48 real actual hour long waiting for crafting recipes is what id expect from an app store game with microtransactions, not a 30 dollar game

[🐺 @HOWLTHROPY]

@Xen_Main @plumitsu @rainywainy8 @0ak_scribbles @AlpacaAcute theyve been making forum posts n update posts on their steam communutity page!
