There are 2 points. I must say before my statement and everyone start throwing hands and complain.
1) Yes Cat was making everyone's life miserable.
2) Yes she needed to be balanced.
Now!
Did she deserved nerfs?
No. She deserved adjustments. Planned adjustments.
I know some might not understand the difference, which is fine (I'm not judging, or am I?)
She's a new hero, a high skill ceiling dive hero, and unfortunately the majorty of the playerbase hates dive (rest well dead fist and My Wakandan king)
The way she gets SHOT IN THE HEAD, legitimately after 4 weeks of release Is insane, this kills the potential for any high skill ceiling heros that are planned for the future.
Specially for dive, because you don't just have to pew pew get a kill.
The way they treated their recent newly released hero based on feedback and complain is insane, any future new heros their kits will be affected creativity wise, skill level so that ppl wouldn't complain,
Rivals should set a futre plan for every hero they release adjustments wise so they avoid "benching" the hero until future notice.
(Dino is a part of this conversation too, but no one cares about Tanks anyway right?)
I really thought Black Cat was gonna be their dive cash cow that they never nerf, kind of like how Luna and Invis are for support, but man, the new Black Cat is GENUINELY unplayable.
It's possible to adapt but what's the point? All the nerfs stacked up make her so unfun to play. It's one thing to nerf a hero, it's another to completely eradicate them.
I don't care if it's a hot take, this is braindead and spoken like someone who probably throws a fit when his hover gets banned.
throwing is never acceptable under normal in-game circumstances.
the sanctity of hovered heroes is idiotic. the game's been out long enough that you should know how to play and be enthusiastically willing to play more than one hero. despite thousands of hours on my favorite character black panther, if I hover it and it gets banned, I say whatever and play either the other half dozen characters I can play at a high level or the rest of the roster I can play at a passable level because I'm not a giant adult baby.
is it not super considerate? sure, but the other thing that's not considerate is making me dice roll whether my teammate hovering the pick or ban is better than the enemy playing the pick or ban. how about we just ban the heroes that are excruciating to play against and move on with our lives.
if you want so badly to play your character, ban something else and convince your other teammates to do the same. if you lose to a 16% probability ban, maybe that's a sign that the universe is not on your side, go ask netease to make it a majority system instead of random and take the L.
Since someone asked, Rocket will explain why Gambit is permabanned in Celestial+
Gambit is essentially a forced match hero. Meaning unless your team matches a Gambit, your chances of winning are considerably lower.
If a Gambit is open, the entire team roster more or less revolve around him (Rogue, Starlord, Loki, Mag, Phoenix etc...)
It's also the same reason why Devil Dino is banned!
Players don't like to be forced to play a certain comp just because of one hero!
