Last night in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, i met with the President of the State of Israel, @Isaac_Herzog at a high-level dinner. Our discussions focused on strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel.
I also met @EricTrump , an influential global figure and son of the President of the United States, as well as other senior global political figures and international leaders.
Mogadishu cannot cancel what it does not control. Berbera is in Somaliland.
Somaliland’s agreements with the UAE are lawful, binding, and already delivering results in trade, infrastructure, jobs and regional stability.
At a time when the US government has paused assistance to Somalia because of fraud and the Treasury Department has announced investigations and increased scrutiny of remittance flows to Somalia, attacking the UAE, the single most important channel for trade and funds reaching Somalia, is both reckless and irresponsible.
Somaliland will continue building partnerships grounded in international law and mutual respect. Berbera will keep growing because facts beat fiction
❣️Message to Somalilanders:❣️
Let's uphold political maturity and refrain from responding to faceless and nameless trolls who peddle misinformation and resort to unpatriotic name-calling and labelling of fellow citizens in order to sow animosity among Somalilanders for short-sighted, cheap political gains.
Let's remember that one's intellect and maturity can be judged by how they conduct themselves when engaging with others; hence the famous quote:
"Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it."
Whether we like it or not, we are all Somalilanders. Let's demonstrate unity, particularly this month of May, and extend an early happy 18th May to all of you.
We were profoundly surprised, even shocked on discovering the remarks made by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) of Minnesota in a recent public forum, widely circulated on most social media platforms and attached below for your reference.
The language she employed was regrettably unbecoming of both the office she holds and the constituents she represents.
Her expressions were lacking in common decency and revealed a significant lack of understanding of basic facts. Specifically troubling, were her endeavors to revive the once-violent and dangerous ideology of Greater Somalia or Somali Weyn, which caused so much death, destruction and conflict in the Horn of Africa.
Furthermore, her use of ethno-racist rhetoric didn't escape attention and left many, with a deep sense of disappointment.
This was particularly bewildering for those who recall similar racist attacks she endured not long ago, of being ”not American enough” and was baffling to see her take a similar approach and accuse the entire #Somaliland nation of “falsely claiming Somali identity.”
Moreover, her ignorance of #US - #Somaliland cooperation in the fight against terror and piracy in the Gulf of Aden & Gulf Of Berbera was shocking to say the least.
We hope the house leadership and her caucus will take note of her public conduct, unbecoming a United States Congresswoman nor representative of the august house she serves in.

The United States is not a collection of mini countries representing overseas interests. This has to stop. Ilhan Omar needs to be at least censured. You are either an American, a tourist, a visa holder or you are on a plane back to your 'homeland'.
Shocking video of @IlhanMN saying she’s making US Government take orders from Somalia:
“The US government will only do what Somalians in the US tell them to do. They will do what we want and nothing else. They must follow our orders and that is how we will safeguard the interest of Somalia. We Somalians must have the confidence in ourselves that we call the shots in the US.”
Omar goes on to say:
“The woman (myself) you sent to Congress is working day and night to protect your interest. She knows your plight and that of Somalia. I am as concerned about Somalia as you guys are. Together we will protect the interests of Somalia.”
Congress must expel Ilhan Omar now.
