「D66の働きかけにより、来週水曜日、州議会において、財政難に陥っている世界遺産センター・ワッデン海（WEC）についての討論が行われることになった。野党であるD66は、ラウエルスオーフにあるアザラシ保護センターの状況がどうなっているのかを知りたいと考えている。「最近の動向について、私たちはまだ何も聞いていない」

4月、RTV Noordを通じて、威信ある施設であるWECが、もはや請求書の支払いができなくなっていることが明らかになった。その時点で、新しい施設の建物は開館からまだ1年も経っていなかった。州は補助金を通じて、建設に780万ユーロを投じていた。ヘット・ホーヘラント自治体とは異なり、州はWECの財政的な保証人にはなっていない。そのため、WECが破産した場合、州には財政上のリスクはない。
