I built Duro! 🇬🇭❤️
An app that helps you figure out where to go when you have no idea where to go.
Dates, hangouts, birthdays, days out. Tell it your vibe + budget and let Duro! plan it.

LinkedIn has become a content farm where humans are the distribution layer for ChatGPT and Claude outputs.
People add zero work on top. I don't even know if they read what they post.
Zero soul. Zero character.
It's almost like AI is using humans as empty-brain vessels to spam one of the biggest social media platform in the world.
🇬🇭 Big news from Ghana! Applications are open for 100k Google Career Certificate scholarships!🎉.

We’ve kept the momentum since January 2025 to prioritise youth issues and amplify their voices.
This week, we’re taking a strategic pause to reflect, evaluate, and refine our work.
Day 1 of our mid-year staff retreat is done, we’re planning stronger for youth impact.
Through our Youth Tech Bridge (YTB) initiative, YBF is empowering young girls in Nsawam with digital skills, cybersecurity, and web development training, equipping them for the future of work
Here are highlights from our first training
Our bootcamp’s collaborative projects build technical skills and the teamwork, communication and leadership we want. Women remain under-represented in STEM and cybersecurity. Training that emphasises peer learning helps close that gap.

Should we relaunch @alx_africa#ALX_SE? I’m thinking #ALX_SE, but AI-augmented. Same secret recipe that made #ALX_SE great: strong CS foundations, project-based learning, peer learning, and learning how to learn. But this time, adapted to the AI era: building software with AI and matching today’s job market needs. WDYT?
If we do relaunch, I'll personally send an email to everyone who filled this form: https://t.co/VWwiiwDXJ7

I’ve seen this table floating around predicting the death of jobs and the end of the world. While some parts are true, others do not make sense.
2020–2023 gave us hard data on no classroom + fully digital learning. Youth mental health worsened. Kids and adults need people. "Mental health problems in youth often go hand-in-hand with other health and behavioral risks like increased risk of drug use, experiencing violence, and higher risk sexual behaviors that can lead to HIV, STDs and unintended pregnancy."

Learning outcomes also fell sharply across countries and recovery is uneven.
AI tutors? yes ofc this is the future, but only on top of a solid in-person experience. I will never have my kids sit in front of a computer without seeing anyone IRL all day. Doesn't make any sense.
Software engineers no more! "Salesforce Will Hire No More Software Engineers in 2025" Says Marc Benioff. Well, guess what? https://t.co/woTsz0i6n9
Uber is dead! Well, smart money seems to think otherwise. The stock price is up 55% YTD.
Courts on AI autopilot in a few years! Have you heard of this little thing called regulation? :) Justice applications are treated as high-risk with required human oversight (EU AI Act), and countries are writing this into law.
At the end of the day, before you start panicking, keep a few things in mind:
- Press & social media: their game is clicks, not truth. Extreme headlines make you click, share, react. That’s why they push them. Don’t confuse virality with reality.
- For my AI & software engineers students: your job was never just typing lines of code. It’s about building software that solves real problems. AI is just another tool in your toolbox. Use it, get faster, get better, but the job is still the same. It can create code faster than you? Yes. But remember when you were copying and pasting from Stack overflow? Well, it's the same, without you having to search.
- Every industrial revolution wiped out some jobs and created even more. This one won’t be any different. New roles are coming, some we can’t even name yet.
So yeah, AI will change things. A lot! You’d be crazy to ignore it. So learn it, play with it, make it part of your routine and job. But don’t listen to the doomers. What’s the alternative anyway? Stop learning, give up, pretend the future will happen without you? No way.
This is one of the most exciting times for humanity. Relax, touch some grass, focus on opportunities, block the negativity, think for yourself, and build the future.
