American actor Jesse Eisenberg—star of the films Now You See Me and The Social Network—spent a week volunteering at a children’s camp in Lviv Oblast and witnessed the Russian attack on Lviv, the TSN news service reports.

The actor arrived in Ukraine as part of a humanitarian mission organized by the American project Campfire, founded by actress Jessica Hecht (known for her role as Susan in the TV series Friends).

For a week, the team worked with children at a camp in the village of Nahachiv in Lviv Oblast. Eisenberg said he had spent a year studying the Cyrillic alphabet so he could read Ukrainian text.

Eisenberg added that it was important for him to come to Ukraine because he has Ukrainian-Polish roots.

One of the victims of the explosion at the upscale Balzi Rossi restaurant in Moscow may be Maria Chaika—the daughter of Alexander Chaika, commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, who is said to have been the target of the attack, according to the Russian media outlet Verstka.

Following the explosion, channels close to Russian security forces published a list of victims that included a 25-year-old “Maria P.,” who suffered an open head injury.

The outlet discovered that the daughter of the Russian commander, Maria Chaika—who is listed in databases under the surname Peredriy—is also 25 years old. Chaika and Peredriy share the same date of birth and residential address.

Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation following explosions at a military training range in Khmelnytskyi, where ammunition detonated. Four soldiers were injured, and several others remain unaccounted for, according to the State Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, on July 31 at approximately 11:55 a.m., an uncontrolled detonation of ammunition occurred at the training ground. The four injured soldiers were hospitalized, and the severity of their injuries is being determined.
