All Harlem schools will be closed on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, due to dangerously cold temperatures. All activities are canceled on Friday. The last day of student attendance will now be May 28th. Thank you and stay safe.

At 10:08 a.m. today, a mechanical issue in a rooftop unit caused smoke at Loves Park Elementary which activated the fire alarm. Students and staff evacuated quickly and safely per our evacuation procedures.

Two classrooms were primarily affected by the smoke caused by the mechanical issue. Those classes have been temporarily relocated until the rooms have aired out. Learning will continue for all students.  At this time, students have been cleared to re-enter the building.

The Loves Park Fire Department inspected the building and confirmed there was no active fire.
