GEMINI ART VENTURE FINALE

♊: In the fan project, there was a sentence saying, "Sorry for expecting too much from me." I really don't like this phrase at all. Sorry for not liking it, but I just don't like it. I really don't. Why should you apologize? It's actually a good thing.
♊: People need to have expectations. You have to expect something anyway. If one day people no longer expect anything from you, that's the day you cease to have an identity. I actually want you all to expect things from me. That is what has brought me to this point.
♊: Honestly, expectations are something I fear, but they are also something I cannot live without. It might sound contradictory, but I've been living with this my entire life. I can't be without it. It's like I'm addicted to expectations.
♊: Starting from the beginning, the people who expect things from us aren't far away... it's our parents. My parents definitely had high expectations of me. Because they had a hard time conceiving, I was an IVF baby. So they only had me, just one child. Having another child was extremely difficult & very expensive. I felt sorry for my mom & dad because it was such a struggle just to have one child. They waited for a very long time before having me.. they had been married for almost 10 years before I was born.
♊: So, it was unavoidable that they would have expectations of me, especially since I'm an only child & a son. I had to grow up to become the pillar of the family & be able to take care of everyone. They naturally expected this of me when I grew up. So I just kept doing things. As a kid, I didn't think much of it... it's normal for parents to expect things from their children, everyone goes through it. But for me, the expectations were... were they too high? Yes, they were high.
♊: My mom is quite a perfectionist, so she wanted me to do everything and be the absolute best at everything.
♊: Honestly, looking back, I think she might not have necessarily wanted me to be the very best, but rather just wanted me to try things out and learn how to do them. But at that time, I felt like, "Why does mae want everything to be so perfect?" It's impossible for one person to do everything and excel at every single thing. It's just impossible. But because I didn't understand back then, the only message I received was that I had to be the best & be able to do everything. So I did it. I tried so many different things, just as you've seen in this concert... I took singing lessons, tried playing sports with friends tried joining a band, and tried entering the competition at Thailand School Star.
Having this many fans today... if it weren't for the expectations back then, today wouldn't exist either.
But none of you need to apologize for expecting things from me. I want everyone to expect a lot from me. Because having a concert or producing a piece of work... it's only right that people have expectations. And I want to deliver on those expectations.
Personally, I view myself as lazy. I'm someone who... like I said, I didn't know what I wanted to grow up to be. I had no passion.... very little passion.
But when people place their expectations on me, when people want me to do this or that, it makes me want to live up to what they expect of me. That's my driving force. So thank you so much for expecting things from me... there's no need to apologize at all.
However... if there's anything to apologize for, it might just be one thing: some people might not see that what I am today... isn't just talent.
I feel like... sure, talent exists, but you can't just attribute everything to that side alone. I've put in a tremendous amount of effort in ways people don't see, and in areas many might overlook.
You might not see the background of what I've faced in life, or what I've had to go through at an age where... I've only just turned 22.
