Successful CHRNS summer school at @NIST! Happy with how I answered the judges’ questions during our group’s presentation. Learned a ton from all the experiments. Thank you to NCNR scientists for the amazing experience 💯
Landed in DC for the CHRNS Summer School for Neutron Scattering at @NIST. Looking forward to lots of fun experiments, talks, and meeting more of my community!
Here in Grenoble, France for an experiment at the ILL. Since scans were running smoothly, I caught a chance to venture out for a beautifully scenic walk. Even as a Vancouverite, I can’t get over how breathtaking the mountains are!
I’m at #APSMarchMeeting! I will be presenting in room 306 at 12:30 PM tomorrow (Monday) in the triangular lattice section. Looking forward to a great conference.
3 things in graduate school that are hard for a goody two-shoes:
1)Contradicting anyone more senior
2)Championing their work as soon as it’s questioned
3)Speaking up to get the credit they deserve
Any advice for a junior researcher who is working on being more assertive?
So grateful for this field of neutron scattering. Cool science AND the opportunity to travel. Just finished a neutron scattering experiment at RAL last week and dropped by London for a day afterwards!
Are you a condensed matter theorist with interests in topological phases of quantum matter, quantum many-body information theory or strongly correlated quantum many-body systems? Come work with us at @McMasterU: https://t.co/uqKbmZuyBX
It’s a wrap! Thank you again to the organizers of #HFM22 for a very special conference and for giving me a chance to present my work. Lots of good feedback and I’m coming away with a lot more context for why we do what we do. Now off to enjoy Europe! 🏰
Gearing up for my flight to Paris for the HFM22 conference next week! First time at gate E at Pearson airport and I gotta say, it’s a step up from the domestic gates.
Wonderful conference #CAPhys2022@McMasterU! It was great to connect with influential Canadian physicists and to present my research to them. Extra awesome to see my ‘old’ co-op supervisor @LuicanMayer and her group!
11 hours and counting without power here in southern Ontario after a short storm :( Double whammy due to my cough so I’m isolating and can’t go to campus for AC and charging. Hope we get power back soon.
