On 7 June, Armenians will vote in a parliamentary election that could determine whether Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan remains in power.

This AnewZ documentary examines allegations of foreign interference in Armenia’s political landscape and the broader struggle for influence in the South Caucasus.

At the centre of the investigation are secret recordings involving former ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, alongside lobbyists, oligarch-linked figures and political operatives.

Experts featured in the film argue that Moscow benefits from instability in the region, saying prolonged tensions help preserve Russian influence in the South Caucasus.

It’s not dying, the consumption of traditional media is changing for the large part. But, when a major crisis happens (like Covid), people go back to traditional media because it’s grounded in ethical standards. Social media and “citizen journalism” doesn’t have the same ethical code or training in media law etc.

There is space for both - but don’t discount traditional media dying altogether, because it’s not
