@EireGalloglaigh@namonaai@commiella@shiboness Maybe you could view platforms like OnlyFans/Twitter/Etsy/whatever as a sort of digital landlord? I'd imagine then it'd just be the same idea as normal business renting out a storefront or smth which I'm sure has been covered extensively
@EireGalloglaigh@namonaai@commiella@shiboness Gotcha thanks, I'm still new to all this so is there some sort of term for I guess gig workers in general? Although most gig workers do sort of own their "platform", there's no plumbing version of Onlyfans banning you I think, so I'm also curious if there's a distinction there
@EireGalloglaigh@namonaai@commiella@shiboness How is an individual posting sexual content on platforms owned by large corporations them owning their means of production? Arent they still working class? Ik one of these peoples parents are rich or smth but the argument seems to be all online sex workers are petite bourgeoisie?
@evilyurigooner@yadahyadha@mheartsvig @dollykazuha I think another point he's trying to make is the racial categorizations of black and white is western or maybe euro/anglocentric. Someone from Africa would say they're Nigerian/Ethiopian/Ghanian/whatever, not "black"
(No idea if this is true or not)
@evilyurigooner@yadahyadha@mheartsvig @dollykazuha Brown is just a color and doesn't actually tell you anything about that person. I think this guy is trying to make a similar point for black and white, a white guy from Iceland has a pretty different culture than a white guy from Britain
@littleboytony@Diazxb05@TheTumboy I see what you mean but I feel like money and wishing for it isn't inherently evil/bad. Like he could, in theory, use the money for altruism or charity instead of greed, even if that's super unlikely and out of character for Ian.
@Diazxb05@TheTumboy Why would he go to jail? I would assume the wish granted real legitimate US bills, I guess if he's not careful with spending he could easily get in trouble for unreported income? But I did miss/forget the stuff you mentioned which does make it seem like a normal monkeys paw ๐ค
@Diazxb05@TheTumboy I don't think the stick is necessarily cursed in the sense that it screws you over with a bad interpretation of your wish, but since Bear made an asshole/impossible wish he got bad results. Ian had a neutral wish of money and he just got the money, no catch. Basically it's karmic
