scifi story: you are the AI mind of an alien probe, one of millions seeded long ago across the galaxy. the star system you are monitoring has developed a technological civilization that will, in time, challenge your makers.
how do you get rid of it?
blowing up the planet or destroying the star takes lots of energy, and leave evidence. (nod to "Revelation Space" and Alastair Reynolds)
but you are very old smart and very very patient.
all you have to do is model the society of the species you are wanting to destroy, and inject some small changes.
you choose a group of the biologicals, they are the "chosen ones". you manipulate things so they are in charge of the information networks and money networks.
you work with your "chosen ones" to transfer stone age biologicals into the societies of the technological biologicals so they can destroy those societies.
if everything goes to plan, in a few generations the biologicals will be living in mud huts and eating each other again.
...
perhaps there are other forces, even other AI machines, that are working with goals opposed to yours.
and the question of our time is: "who wins"
AMERICA ONSHORE 🇺🇸
AT&T just announced that they’re bringing customer service call center jobs back to the U.S.
This is a win for American jobs and for every customer who gets frustrated speaking with overseas operators.
AT&T: “By the end of next year, all AT&T home internet, home phone, and post-paid wireless consumers will be served by Care experts located in the United States.”
Thank you, AT&T.
@shotgunner101 wrong conclusion.
a friend and I are considering having AI build us a clone of a game we used to play together decades ago.
splitting the cost of the AI credits.
it's not about keeping people from reverse engineering your code.
the value of your code is approaching zero.
@Hitchslap1 the responses are interesting. 30 seconds? a few minutes?
takes 3 seconds to see the pattern, and 30 seconds looking for the gimmick...
"surely it can't be that easy. must be a trick. ok, is there a sub pattern that also exists?"
Whites elect a jew leader. jew leader starts war. Feeds all White men into meat grinder.
This is how Ukraine is magically transformed into New Khazaria.
24yr old mechanic from Maryland allegedly getting sued for "emotional distress" after posting a video of trying fix a car.
Any lawyers in Maryland wanna help a kid out
This is my family. I refused warrantless entry because the Fourth Amendment still applies when CPS shows up with armed deputies. I offered a welfare check without police; they refused.
The next day they returned with emergency removal orders and took both of our daughters, including our one-month-old breastfeeding infant, and placed them in a foster home with a single father of 3 boys 😠. There was no criminal charge against us and no emergency. After an emergency hearing the court dismissed the removal order. Every major finding was later reversed as unfounded, and DFS abandoned its appeal. The damage—especially to a nursing mother and newborn—was already done.
I have since filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit (Yazdani v. Mieszala et al., EDVA 1:26-cv-03365) over separate LCSO misconduct. Accountability for the CPS side is next.
We are not the only Loudoun family to raise these issues. Sarah Legg (@sarahgracelegg) posted a detailed personal statement describing her own experience with the same worker: she alleges Kelli Hedrick abused her position, coordinated with law enforcement to have her arraigned while eight months pregnant (threatening jail, a fine, and re-education), and showed a pattern of manipulative conduct and poor judgment toward families. She specifically called out “deep concerns about Kelli Hedrick’s judgment, conduct, and influence on families and the local agencies of Loudoun County.”
