I appreciate being among such great company being recognized today celebrating 60 years of Ontario Human Rights. Thank you to my wonderful friend and quiet activist who nominated me, Dr. Salha Jeizan, and thank you @OntHumanRights for selecting me for this honour.
For decades, Dr. Teresa Kieser served patients as Alberta's only female cardiovascular surgeon.
But as her career nears its end, she wants Canadians to think about a different part of her journey: the gender-based discrimination she alleges she's faced.

@DavidLepofsky We’re appreciative of your calls for accountability to the Onley Report since, like other Onley recommendations, systemic public ed barriers weren’t removed. The Commission’s Right to Read inquiry re-identified some issues; a new language curriculum is promised by September 2023.
We’re ready for the next chapter in the non-partisan grassroots campaign to tear down disability #accessibility barriers, after the #OntarioElection! <https://t.co/asMHCh2JpK> #AODA#OnPoli#OnElxn
#DoFo Ford Gov has violated the Disabilities Act for 1 year. 6 years ago the Customer Service #Accessibility Standard was revised. 1year ago Ford had duty to appoint committee to recommend improvements. He still hasn't. Get it done https://t.co/skE2TupvEd #AODA
June 40 years ago the Ontario Human Rights Code Was amended to ban disability discrimination in jobs housing goods services &facilities. People with disabilities fought to win this. We're still fighting to get this right obeyed #accessibility#AODA#Onpoli
16 years ago #OnGov announced plan to privatize enforcement of human rights. It created a mess from which we never recovered. My captioned lecture tells the tale. We need public enforcement of #HumanRights https://t.co/FXSU74IGkT #accessibility#AODA
I deeply wish adapted vehicles were more financially accessible. My family just sold our old one to a family that’s never had one. I could weep at their joy & gratitude because they’re taking their family member on a surprise trip. Accessible transportation shouldn’t be a luxury.
