As I lowered my head for the final Sajdah of the day, something entirely different hit me.
A strong feeling suddenly hit my heart: “Ramadan is really ending…”
And in that moment, the weight of it all struck me so deeply that tears began to fall before I could even stop them.
Is this truly how everything beautiful just… ends?
All these precious opportunities.. the fasting, standing in long prayers, the consistent tilaawah, holding back from sins, the quiet nights and early mornings we held onto, waking up for suhoor, striving in qiyām, pushing ourselves even when we were tired.. the consistent worship that pulled us closer to Allah.. does it all just come to an end like this?
When will we ever get moments like this again? Times where calling upon Allah feels so close, so certain, like your du‘ā is being heard instantly?
Ya Allah… can’t we have just a few more days?
I’ve never felt it this deep before. The realization that even the most blessed month must eventually bid us farewell… it broke something open inside me.
Right there on the mat, I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I couldn't even make dua.. The tears just kept pouring down, heavy and unstoppable, my soul cried out: Yaa Allaaahhh… Yaa Allaaahhh… Yaa Allaaahhh…
By next Ramadān, may we return with a new set of prayers and hopes 🏽
