Hugely unsurprising to see such vitriol in my mentions already, after I merely commented to thank someone for their support and allyship.
I'm literally just trying to live my life here guys, and already people are emboldened to spread hate.
@Medic_Russell I think "pain" is absolutely the best word to describe this feeling. Thank you for your words, Russell. Every bit of support is a source of hope right now.
This is so unbelievably upsetting. How can the Prime Minister be so ignorant to an entire population of his constituents? The level of harm this is going to cause is unfathomable. Never have I wanted to leave this shitty island more.

@Touyarokii May be a controversial take but I love the Rotom phone. The Pokedex is meant to be a relatively rare bit of tech (although I guess not if the whole academy gets one) so it makes sense to me there'd be a relatively rare lil' guy in there.
@YouMustBeAnna This place fucking sucks. I combat it by following a load of trans people, seeking out the trans appreciation posts and giving as much love as I can to people sharing their transition journeys. A drop of love in an ocean of hate but better than nothing.
Wearing my pride and pronoun badges helps my patients feel safe. They come to me for their gender queries, their mental health. They know I won't dismiss them and that I'll respect them. Wearing my pins has done nothing but improve our Dr/patient relationships, time and again.
The pride flag, on a lanyard, for instance, is experienced as a political declaration by patients. It does not belong in a professional, ethical doctor-patient relationship. The patients, who are often hurting, terrified and anxious, should not have to deal also with our politics.
