Imaging Pearl 4: Phase images of SWI MRI to differentiate Paramagnetic (eg:microhemorrhage) and Diamagnetic (microcalcification) lesions

Boils down to seeing if lesion FOLLOWS/is OPPOSITE to the bright or dark color of veins on Lt/Rt handed MR systems

Just a casual reminder that the “central canal” is an ependymal-lined structure in the spinal cord. The “spinal canal” is a channel through the vertebral column holding the thecal sac, & these 2 terms are not interchangeable.

A rare, or possibly rarely described, entity not to forget when an MR seems 'negative' for SNHL, esp if there's history of trauma. Follow CN VIII in the IAC on hT2W seq, see if there might be a focal deviation that might just be a tiny IAC arachnoid cyst!
