Leo Woodall says he did not know about hyperacusis before starring in 'TUNER,' which follows a piano tuner who suffers from the condition:
"t's a very rare condition, and one of the first things I did was speak to a man called Alex Ruger, who has the condition and has lived with the condition for, I think, around a decade. He spoke to me at length about his experience with it and navigating it, which was invaluable to me."
'TUNER' is now playing in theaters.

"Hyperacusis results in a continuum of pain, but even mild cases are so debilitating that they feel severe. Some people improve slowly with the tincture of time but all it takes is one noise insult to wipe out years of progress." https://t.co/pQs3adZ5EX @HyperacusisCure@nytimes
"Hyperacusis often co-exists with tinnitus and can be profoundly disabling. I recognised these patterns in the people I supported and, eventually, in myself." https://t.co/lwYBu5pguH #tinnitus#hyperacusis#keeplistening
Barking dogs regularly top the complaints to local authorities. This is a preview of the material that will be launched during Noise Action Week in May about what to if they disturb you...and what you can do if it is your dog barking! https://t.co/4bVcmJGW7I
Remember when everyone lost it over EVs being 'too quiet' & regs forced fake safety hums on them? Now Europe/UN is pushing to BAN the extra loud fake V8 engine and sounds (ESSES) in EVs because... less noise pollution were kinda the POINT all along

Good piece. 'Incorporating noise into the design stage of everything – from products to buildings, infrastructure projects, transport & urban landscapes – is a challenge. This will involve reshaping how we educate engineers, architects and urban planners'

#Maduro is NOT wearing a noise-canceling headset, large #headphones, #noisecanceling earmuffs, what looks like headphones or protective headphones. He is wearing @Peltor Optime III protective #earmuffs by @3M, known as #eardefenders in the UK, commonly worn by airport and construction workers. We've seen no American press coverage get it right. #tinnitus #hyperacusis #hearingloss #noise

URGENT: Unfortunately, the speaker for tonight's #hyperacusis discussion group, Dr. Kelly Jahn, is ill and must postpone her presentation.
The Zoom meeting will go on as planned. We are sorry for this unexpected circumstance and will provide updates once we have more information.
