@Demoncoww@OrehCursor "A high bar" is only a measure of quality if the conversation is already about quality. Which means you assume that I put DMC and Bayonetta on a pedestal, and think other kinds of action games are inferior. Which is ridiculous because I have been talking up Gundam Breaker.

@Demoncoww@OrehCursor Of course it doesn't appear to be DMC or Bayonetta, that's too high a bar to expect from Bandai-Namco's in house devs. But armored Core 1-4 only had two melee animations per weapon, a swing for legs and a thrust for tanks. The "fancy" stuff was added to 5 for Overed Melee.
