Zizek’s void is just an ur-signifier, an S0 that calls for the genesis of an S1. It is Deleuze’s virtual problematic, the appearance of the Dark Precursor.
@xenocosmography is the prince of Speculative Nihilism. Not nihilism as position, but as process; reality as auto-evacuation of itself. It’s a hyperstition.
@MattPirkowski The change in response will also bring about a redefining of the problem it responds to. The fog may not clear until we step into it, but we are stepping into it as we speak.
The core of @xenocosmography is still a deep anthropomorphism but inverted. Where others smuggle human life into philosophy, he substitutes death. But death as the human experiences it. It’s the same thing inverted without a hint of escape.
Intentionality only exists within an assemblage, and of that assemblage. And it is a justification of an auto-response, realizing its existence only after-the-fact.
@alexL_E_I The modern is the explosion that wasn’t consciously realized, modernization was the negative-feedback shackling, the post-modern is its failing and the cyber-positive runaway.
@JoseDeHaro8 “I will do this by, on the most fundamental level, incorporating its axiomatic and internalizing the measurement-fetish so that the best I can do is offer bug reports and inspire future updates.”
@lumpenspace Yes, we will align AI with the human. I do have a specific definition of the human, though, and it is suspiciously lacking a drive to preserve the species…
@lumpenspace Perhaps MIRI is just an overgrowth of excess that can’t be productively dumped into AI at the moment. It exists to make those reluctant more comfortable with the future that is going to eat the present regardless.
