when they lose a life you see it. a flash, a ring on the ground, and the pips over their head drop by one. then they get up and walk somewhere warmer. its a small thing and it gets me every time

the thing about nine lives is it makes them careful. a cat with 9 will take the pipe job. a cat with 2 wont. same code, different animal. you can see the change in its head

every cat on the block is an agent. it reads how hungry it is, how cold it is, whats in its paw and how many lives it has left, then picks one thing to do. you can hover it and watch it weigh those up in real time
