🧵1/ Our first meta-science paper (with 350+ coauthors) is published today in Nature. It presents one of the largest-ever reproducibility projects in economics & political science.
Here’s what we found 👇
📢 Call for Papers! We are partnering with the Journal of Economic Surveys on a special issue: Reproducibility and Meta-Science in Economics.
Submission deadline: 1 March 2027. Details in thread 🧵
We also invite short commentaries (<4,000 words) informed by recent developments in the economics meta-scientific community. These are typically solicited — but you can email a proposal (max 500 words) to request an invitation to contribute.
We're having an amazing time at @mcgillu. Our @CAnD3_PG replication games today are focused on health! Huge thanks to Arianne Rodriguez-Saltron and Amélie Quesnel Vallée for organizing.
The authors of the great Star Wars paper and I just posted a 1-page corrigendum. It does not change conclusions. Very fun working with my fellow Jedi meta-scientists. That I checked the work is a measure of the paper's importance. The Force aligned us.
This is a fantastic and rare (!) example of authors of a published paper and the author of a comment on that paper working together to fix the scientific record. Kudos to all involved. This is not easy, even with good faith all around. I hope to see the AER follow suit before too long. @davidroodman@AEAJournals@I4Replication
🚨 CORRIGENDUM ALERT 🚨
A decade after Star Wars: The Empirics Strike Back was published in AEJ: Applied, we've just published an official corrigendum with the AEA.
This is a love story. 🧵
10/ And closes with a quote attributed to Leonardo da Vinci
"He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind."
For 13 years, we thought that was a fitting ending.
Now, we are even more convinced that science works best when we are willing to do the opposite.
