🚨 BREAKING - Android stays OPEN 🔥
After listening to feedback, Google confirms: Sideloading isn’t going anywhere. Period. 💯
But here’s what’s new 👇
🆕 Advanced Flow for unverified apps
• 24-hour waiting period
• Designed to protect users from scams
• Still gives power users full freedom
👉 And importantly:
• One-time process (not repeated every install)
• You can turn off developer options after
Meanwhile 👇
✅ Verified developers → install instantly
✅ New dev account types (hobbyists & students)
✅ ADB access stays
✅ Third-party app stores fully supported
Android remains what it always was:
Open. Flexible. User-first.
This update = more safety without killing freedom 🔐
Big W 👏🏻
Samsung moving away from Odin / Recovery
Samsung will rely on Android Verified Boot and Samsung Knox, which create a strict chain of trust from power-on to system boot so only authentic firmware can run.
So removing those modes helps strengthen security (more Apple-style protection), lets seamless updates handle things like cache maintenance automatically, limits firmware leaks, and makes rooting or firmware downgrades much harder, which also means a stolen device becomes far less useful.
In many ways, One UI is slowly shifting from the old open playground into a more controlled ecosystem.
One UI 8.5 blocks many long-time features 💀
> OS flashing (Sideloading https://t.co/FGA0NhduJX) via the phone's update app
> Wipe cache partition and other useful Android recovery options
> Download mode (needed for Odin)
