I’ve listened to this Lagos governorship candidate on four different occasions now, and honestly, he talks a lot about the problems the state faces, but when it comes to actually explaining what he would do about those problems, I’m not hearing enough.

And for me, that says a lot. He comes across as someone who doesn’t think in systems and design thinking. I’m not seeing the problem solving capacity, the creative thinking or the kind of innovative approach that Lagos needs. He sounds more like someone who will simply be managing the same problems in a different administration without a solution.

After listening to him several times, I cannot convince myself that this is the kind of thinking Lagos should settle for. There are too many intelligent, creative and capable people in the state for the standard to be this low.

A leader should not just tell people how bad the problem is. I want to hear how you think, how you will change it, how you solve and what you intend to build.

If Senegalese and Ivorian fans are banned, then their players should seriously reconsider participating. In fact, no African nation should go to that World Cup if this isn't reversed immediately. What an insult.

Football does not exist in isolation from its people. @FIFAcom what is going on? Isn't this against FIFA’s rules and ethics. This is a serious breach of World Cup hosting obligations.

Even Past World Cup hosts accepted fans from hostile or politically tense nations, Russia did. Qatar did. South Africa did. That’s what hosting the World Cup means. You don’t pick and choose who is welcome. If you’re not ready to accept the world, you shouldn’t host it. That is why it is called a World Cup. This is pure discrimination, plain and simple.

If America is not ready to accept visitors from qualified countries, then it is not fit to host the World Cup.
