@jbanningww1 When serving my apprenticeship, we had time and study and literally every job had a code with a time .
I remember they went from 1 to 11 and each number was a category.
Old fav was 11/57: sweeping tarmac 10 mins 100sq yds
@ancresbyjacq@PaMemorial@CWGC There are 8 in total ,3 first and 5 second world war.
There might even be casualties named on private memorials who were killed in Europe.
I see some in Queensferry named on the family lair but lost in Germany and France.
Cwgc website gives the details of the Torryburn casualties
@ancresbyjacq@PaMemorial@CWGC Hi,
I haven't been there.
Those we class as scattered graves ,they are visited regularly ,but not as a plot like Douglas Bank.
Usually class plus 10 headstones together as a plot
@PaMemorial@ScottishGraves@CWGC Morning Dave,
Maybe my post doesn't give justice to what we carried out.
10 ton of manure dug in.
100% replant,and every border straightened ,even though we just layed the turf last year.
Eaten alive by midges,mix of sunshine and rain .
@epfedin@CWGC @IainGAnderson The red rose in most cemeteries is
"REMEMBRANCE"
it is used right across Europe .
We have specific varieties,mostly floribunda.
One of my favourites is Leonardo di vinca,a pink with lots of flower heads.
I think this week a photo of tilly sur seulles had it
@epfedin@CWGC @IainGAnderson We do use mostly alpines and herbaceous perennials and grasses.low growing in front of the headstone to stop soil splash.
These plants can be divided and used elsewhere when they become too large.
We monitor what does well in areas as soil conditions are so different.
@PaMemorial @salineheritage @CWGC @IainGAnderson Next time your doing a tour I will drive over.
I could give an insight of the operation side and how and why we do what we do
@PaMemorial @salineheritage @CWGC @IainGAnderson I noticed the last 2 weeks on the inner circle thicker soft dead wood.
We try our best to make each cemetery to the highest standard possible.
Now we see what we need to do this winter.
I always try to keep the standard I set myself when I was in France and Belgium
@PaMemorial @salineheritage @CWGC @IainGAnderson Hi Dave,
It surely is !
I removed a 1 ton sack of leaves and branches before I mowed on Wednesday.
Trees are in full leaf and we are having 1 or 2 days of strong winds enough to bring the dead wood down.
@BrexitBin Living abroad at the time of Brexit,everyone I spoke to had the same opinion why we voted to leave and it was immigration.
Also regulations regarding finances ,those who have the finances can still hide them in non dom
