UK ๐ฌ๐ง - ๐ฆ๐ช๐ธ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ด๐ง๐ญ GCC FTA
Reports are coming out in multiple news outlets, that the FTA between the UK and the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is about to be agreed imminently.
This will be another great Brexit benefit if achieved.
ICYMI, here is a selection of independent views on the Chagos handover...
1โฃ From @RUSI_org - "The UKโs surrender of Chagos is a symptom of strategic ineptitude" (1/3)

The Chagos surrender is beyond belief. Why are we paying a foreign country up to ยฃ30bn to take an asset that belongs to Britain? Why are we damaging our long-term national security? Starmer looks like a man with a bizarre and pointless fetish for self-mutilation.
ANOTHER STARMER SLOW CLAP
The EU are saying that the UK-US deal does not in their eyes conform to WTO rules, and that their agreement with Starmer earlier this week requires the UK to comply.
They want the UK to cancel the US deal too.

UK ๐ฌ๐ง - ๐ง๐ญ๐ฏ๐ด๐ด๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ช GCC FTA
The UK Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, says that the next trade deal to be signed will be with the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council, which will be coming down the track shortly.
Another deal we couldn't do without Brexit.

This is such a disgraceful lie.
Domestic producers have to pay through the ETS (emissions trading system). Importers looking to replace those now uncompetitive producers with the same cheaper goods from overseas, pay CBAM (carbon border adjustment mechanism).
Both UK and EU have ETS and CBAM schemes, but the EU ETS costs more and the majority of revenue goes to the EU budget.
So UK importers will not face UK CBAM through this deal with the EU, but they will face a higher cost ETS. So they will be *worse* off, not better off.
"We do not merely study the past: we inherit it, and inheritance brings with it not only the rights of ownership, but the duties of trusteeship. Things fought for & died for should not be idly squandered. For they are the property of others, who are not yet born."
Roger Scruton
UK BETRAYAL BY STARMER
There we have it. The UK has conceded everything, and gained nothing.
Given away fishing rights for another TWELVE years, for the pleasure of being able to also give away other things to the EU as well.
There is *NOTHING* here of value to the UK.
The Labour sellout narrative on fish this morning is that they are just extending what the Tories agreed to.
The Tories agreed a tapered reduction every year for six years. If Labour were just extending that, then EU access would continue to taper every year.
They're lying.
Labour backbenchers are, through their scripted responses in the Opposition Day debate, giving away the game on what the Labour Party has signed up to with the EU:
- A Youth Mobility Agreement
- Dynamic Alignment on SPS Goods
- ECJ Oversight
- Alignment on CBAM
This is what I like to see.
The @RSPCA_official coming out to bat for hard-won Brexit benefits on higher animal welfare standards, and telling the kneeler-in-chief Keir Starmer to not sacrifice them at the upcoming UK-EU Summit.

The cost of betrayal is getting higher.
For the UK to get the privilege of being able to pay to defend our EU neighbours, France wants more access to our fishing waters and Spain wants Gibraltar.
How about, just maybe, we tell them no. Just an idea.
