The press release from my lawyers Francisco Teixeira da Mota, Luisa Teixeira da Mota, William Bourdon and Vincent Brengarth regarding the outrageous actions taken against me by the Portuguese State on Wednesday:
PRESS RELEASE
Lisbon and Paris, October 2, 2026
End of Rui Pinto’s protection: his lawyers call on Portuguese authorities to reconsider a decision with dire consequences
Rui Pinto, the whistleblower behind "Football Leaks," has been notified on Wednesday that the special security program he has benefited from since August 2020 will end on October 10. In a few days, without being heard beforehand, as required by law, he would lose the protected, confidential residence assigned to him and l be forced to find new housing urgently, with no guarantee that police protection will continue.
His situation is now critical. The threats against him are not merely theoretical; he was assaulted in Lisbon last April. His revelations implicated powerful figures with vast resources, and many resulting legal proceedings are still ongoing, as evidenced by the decision handed down just days ago by the Premier League’s independent commission regarding Manchester City. Abruptly deprived of his protected housing and plunged into a state of extreme precariousness, Rui Pinto would be more vulnerable now than at any time since 2020.
Rui Pinto has cooperated with the Portuguese justice system, and it was this cooperation that justified placing him under protection. His revelations, utilized by numerous judicial, tax, and sports authorities across Europe, starting with France, have advanced transparency and integrity in football. The states that have benefited from his actions cannot simply turn their backs on the person who took the risk to bring them to light.
In accordance with the law, an administrative appeal with suspensive effect will be filed against this decision. Rui Pinto’s lawyers, confident that the Portuguese authorities would give due consideration to his situation, asked, last Wednesday, the ministry of Justice to reconsider this decision, to disclose the details of the risk reassessment upon which it is based, to ensure that their client is heard, and to guarantee, in any event, the continuity of his protection. No answer was received till now.
This decision and the way it was made, regrettably, doesn’t respect the rule of law and constitutes an act of state terrorism. We can’t accept that.

🚨🔵🛑Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Manchester City financial breaches allegations.👀
🗣️Ratcliffe: "Let’s call a spade a spade, shall we? You look across town and you see this glittering empire, but the foundation is built on absolute financial fiction. We at Manchester United, for all our recent faults and boardroom incompetence over the last decade, generate our revenue because half the globe genuinely cares about the badge."
🗣️"City claim to have out-earned Real Madrid and United commercially, yet they play in a stadium they can barely fill for a Champions League knockout tie. It’s an insult to the intelligence of every football fan in the country."
🗣️"If you run a petrochemical company and cook the books to artificially bankrupt your competitors, the government steps in and people go to prison. In football, apparently, you just get to hire a fleet of lawyers and parade around on an open-top bus for ten years."
🗣️"The Premier League has to stop tiptoeing around this issue like a frightened child facing a state-backed bully."
🗣️"If those 115 charges are proven and frankly, the sheer volume of smoke tells you exactly where the fire is a Nine Hundred-million-pounds fine or a temporary points deduction is a sick joke."
🗣️"You don't dock points. You strip the titles, you wipe the records, and you send them down to the National League where they can learn to balance a legitimate ledger against Halifax Town. Anything less is a permanent, terminal stain on the integrity of English football."
🗣️"I, for one, am entirely finished pretending their 'treble' wasn't bought on credit they never legally possessed."

[🟢] NEW: He (Leoni) chose to complete his rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre, unlike others who have returned to more comfortable surroundings when out for so long, as he wanted to build stronger relationships with staff.

You watch Florian Wirtz for Germany and you can see why we’ve signed him. He still has that incredible ability to dictate games with his technical brilliance.
I still believe it will work for us.
🗣️🇩🇪 Klopp on Wirtz: “The way we want to play suits Florian Wirtz. I think everyone at Liverpool is very happy today. He is full of love for the game, and he has given everything he has.”
Jürgen getting the Germany job is thing that could’ve happened to him 🙏
One of those players you watch for the first few minutes and go… ‘yep he’s world class’. Doesn’t move like a normal football player. Best thing about him for me is the confidence; shoulders back + chest out, everything looks locked. No loose and flimsy actions, very controlled.
