My previous job, I was the Head of Operations and it's only myself and the CFO that can send invoice out to partners and suppliers.

I employed a sales manager who was performing well but he was suspicious anyways after 2 years he decided to leave.

A month after he left I got mail that we didn't fulfill the services a bigger company paid for... What do you mean? After a lot of back and forth cos I couldn't find any engagement with this company.

They sent the invoice we sent to them, Omo this sales manager cloned our companys invoice and put his own account details there. He defrauded them of 1m naira.

Na Abule Egba police DPO I call... Dem arrest this guy and he confessed. Well he paid the money, they asked me if I want to charge him to court. Who has that time? Told them to leave him.

We operate in a close space and everyone knows everyone. Since 2022 this guy has not gotten a job in that field. Recently someone wants to employ him they reached out to me as his former manager.

I told the CEO, if you love yourself, your mental health and most importantly your business - this guy is a THIEF!!!

He lost that lucrative opportunity!

Blame the govt but most of these people are Thieves!!!

It's knowing what to search for.

Here's my style after making plenty of mistakes.

1. T-shirts:

Skip 100% polyester unless you're buying gym wear.

Instead, search:
• 100% Cotton
• Combed Cotton
• Heavyweight Cotton
• 240-300 GSM Cotton
• Premium Cotton
• Mercerized Cotton

The heavier the GSM, the thicker and more premium the shirt usually feels.

2. Jeans:

Denim Jeans
Temu is surprisingly good for denim if you know what to search.

Search:
• Denim Jeans
• Cotton Denim
• Raw Denim
• Selvedge Denim (if available)
• 98% Cotton + 2% Elastane
• 99% Cotton

Avoid jeans with high polyester content. The more cotton, the better they'll age and feel.

3. Body-hug clothing:

Search:
• Ribbed Knit
• Modal
• Viscose Blend
• Cotton-Spandex Blend

They hold their shape much better than cheap polyester.

4. Hoodies
Search:
• 400 GSM
• French Terry
• Cotton Fleece
• Heavyweight Hoodie

5. Chains
Search:
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Titanium Steel
• PVD Gold Plated
• Vacuum Plated

These are far more resistant to fading than ordinary fashion jewelry.

6. Earrings
Search:
• 925 Sterling Silver
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Hypoallergenic
• Moissanite (if you're buying stones)

7. Scarves
Search:
• Mulberry Silk
• Silk Blend
• Cashmere Blend
• Wool Blend
• Viscose

Avoid the shiny, thin polyester scarves if you're after a premium look.

8. Loafers
Search:
• Genuine Leather
• Cow Leather
• Full Grain Leather (rare but worth looking for)
• Rubber Outsole

9. Sneakers

• EVA Midsole
• Breathable Mesh
• Leather Upper
• Stitched Sole

Pictures lie a lot

The description usually tells the truth.

Here's how I shop:

1. Read the material composition before anything else.

2. Sort by Most Orders or Best Selling, not cheapest.

3. Only buy products with lots of reviews or pictures or even better when a Nigerian has purchased it before they always tell the truth.

4. Read the 1-star reviews first. They'll tell you what the seller won't.

5. Look at customer photos, not the product photos.

6. Check the weight of the product. Better quality clothing is often heavier.

7. Read the size chart. Don't assume your Nigerian size matches.

8. If the title has words like "luxury," "premium," or "designer" but the material is 100% polyester, not everything but still move on.

Your best friend isn't the product picture.

It's the material, the reviews, and the customer photos.

That's how you separate the gems from the junk.

Run the numbers. $1M at just 5% APR:
→ $50,000 a year → $4,167 a month → $137 a day

Every day you wake up, $137 landed in your account. You didn’t touch your principal. You didn’t lift a finger, and if that 5% compounds daily, you’re closer to $51,200 a year, the money starts making money on the money.

So before you spend a single dollar or naira, ask yourself one question: can this purchase pay for itself from the interest alone? If yes, you’ve earned it. If no, you’re eating your seed.

Anyone can GET money. Keeping it is a different skill entirely and it starts with the discipline to sit still while everyone expects you to splurge.

Sometimes parking it and letting it pay you is the best play ever. This is from experience, don’t joke with your once-in-a-lifetime SEED when it comes your way.

life hacks every man should learn and do at least once a year

1. wake up early on a saturday and take yourself out for breakfast. dress clean, smell good, go somewhere calm and order a proper meal. no rush, no pressure. just sit, eat slowly and enjoy the moment. take a few selfies too even if you usually don’t.

2. book a decent hotel room in your city for one night. nothing too expensive, just comfortable. carry a small bag like you’re escaping life for a bit. order food, take a long shower, put your phone away for some time and rest properly. learn that peace is the luxury.

3. take yourself to the cinema alone. buy popcorn. pick the exact seat you actually want. think deeply, laugh hard, cry if you need to, feel whatever you feel, no one talking to you. just you and the movie.

4. go to a café on a weekday, order a drink and a small pastry. sit by the window and face your phone down for a bit. watch people going to work, students rushing, cars passing, birds singing, children playing, just life moving in that pace.

5. take yourself somewhere peaceful outdoors. maybe a park, a quiet road, a waterfront or anywhere with fresh air. walk slowly with music in your ears or just enjoy the silence. clear your head a little.

6. learn to genuinely enjoy your own company, brother. if you can be happy alone, you become harder to break, harder to pressure and harder to control.

7. enjoy yourself man. come on, you need it, you deserve it.

1. Learn cybersecurity now. That skill will change your life for good. The field still has few skilled people, so get a professional certification and sell your services aggressively. Learn with platforms like Coursera and Udemy.

2. 30 percent of your income must go strictly into savings. Commit to this for at least 10 years and you will see a massive difference.

3. Buy a car before you even think of building a house. The connections, approvals, trust, and opportunities that come with owning a car are impossible to get from a house. Especially if you are into business, a car puts you far ahead of your peers who are still jumping buses and climbing okada. People rush to build houses because they are less informed.

4. Instead of buying one plot of land for 10 million naira and spending 90 million naira to build a house, buy 10 pieces of land and hold them for 10 to 15 years. You can easily make 500 million naira or far more, depending on the location.

5. Not everybody will make it in business, but many will win through smart investments. Invest in government securities, money market funds, stocks, and land.

6. If you are in your 20s or 30s, forget about building a house right now. Rent a good place and invest 3 to 5 million naira in mutual funds. That single move can cover your rent for years. Take the money you wanted to waste on a house, put it into business. If you do not know how to run a business, buy lands in developing areas and invest the rest in money market funds. In 10 to 15 years the results will blow your mind.

Bonus tip: If you have rich friends who can lend you up to 100 million naira that they do not need urgently, invest it in mutual funds or government securities through your bank for one year. Collect the 18 to 20 million naira return, return the principal to your friend, and repeat the process.

Stop trading your future for temporary pride. Stack assets aggressively. Invest first, build later, and build bigger. The compound effect is real. Start today.
