Scientists have been warning since July that the ~1,500 ships stuck in the Persian Gulf since the Hormuz closure are growing thick layers of barnacles, algae, and mussels on their hulls — and that once those ships disperse globally, it could trigger a marine invasive species “super-spreader” event. A 24-scientist team (UMCES/Woods Hole) published the peer-reviewed warning in July.
Here’s what I haven’t seen anyone connect yet: those ships may finally start moving in the next few weeks — Trump and Bessent are again claiming a Hormuz deal could happen any day. And that release window lines up almost exactly with NOAA’s forecast for a Super El Niño, expected to peak this coming winter and possibly rank among the strongest on record.
The scientists already said the quiet part: species that survive the Gulf’s heat “may also be effective invaders elsewhere, particularly as ocean temperatures rise.” If that’s true, releasing this fleet right as global ocean temperatures climb toward an El Niño peak isn’t just bad timing — it’s close to the worst possible timing.

This is going to sound crazy.
But, one of the skills you must learn in the near future is how to cope with an increasingly illiterate society of emotionally dysregulated people.
If you continue to get frustrated on a daily basis over how everything seems dumb, stress is going to silently jeopardize your health.
