People saying the Mr. Met dancing video is embarrassing just don’t get it. The Mets as a franchise are embarrassing. Every single day as a Mets fan is embarrassing. If you can’t laugh at that video and acknowledge how on brand it is then I don’t know what to tell you.
Carlos Mendoza didn’t deserve to be fired as much as David Stearns did, but someone with the Mets had to go. Hard to recall a GM wasting more money with such a dreadful job of roster construction. Polar opposite of Leon Rose.
In all seriousness… I grew up a huge fan of the New Jersey Nets. When the Nets decided to abandon us, they spent the next 7 years insulting the State and all of us fans. So many of us here in NJ who were Nets fans have migrated over to the Knicks for one reason or another. There are basically no Nets fans left in NJ and the State is firmly behind the Knicks. This was an incredible run and cements that.
If you hate KAT, I suggest you reconsider...
"I feel like other than losing a child there's nothing worse you could go through and it builds you up and it strengthens you beyond measure. That's why I got Philippians 4:13 and the date tattooed on my neck. I could do all things through Christ who strengthens me but I was strengthened on April 13 when I lost my mother. That's been my favorite Bible verse my whole entire life since I was little. I didn't know the significance it would have in my life when I became an adult. But what I do know is that I truly can do anything when I walk in faith, when I walk with the angels beside me. I feel anything's possible, I feel nothing's impossible...
I'm just grateful to be in this position because I know a lot of friends in mind that are not here to see this moment. I know a lot of people I love tremendously that aren't here to give me that hug or to give me that text message. I'm doing this for them. I do this for them, I do it for my mother's country, I do it for everybody in Dominican Republic, I do it for everyone in the city that welcomed my mother when she immigrated over. I do it for all my family in New Jersey that allowed me to be raised and allowed me to love this game of basketball and allowed me to be a kid with my mother and enjoy those times. It takes a tribe to get here and it takes a village and I'm so blessed that I've had the village I've had in my life to get to this point"
The whole 82-0 phenomenon reinforces that whole bit about how the only thing a bunch of dudes need in order to have a good time is to sit around announcing the names of a bunch of old athletes.
We talked to nearly 100 people about youth sports in New Jersey and found a predatory industry that is leaving parents broke, exhausted and wondering how the games of their childhood took over their adult lives. Our six-month investigation: https://t.co/plE3w618qt
The New Jersey Devils organization is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of former Devil Claude Lemieux.
A clutch player on the ice and greatly appreciated by Devils' fans off it, Claude's impact in bringing the first-ever Stanley Cup to New Jersey will forever be remembered as one of the paramount performances in team history.
Widely respected throughout the NHL, both as a trusted agent and a valued colleague, Claude leaves behind a lasting legacy within our game that he gave so much to. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.
Pete Alonso’s comment of “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your fucking formulas” is profound. Said what many Mets fans have been thinking to David Stearns’ face. The Mets’ POBO’s style is clearly a ruthless one.
https://t.co/zQOZODxrsz Time to look at what we know of David Stearns’ formulas 1 1/2 years after Pete Alonso told him this: “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your [flipping] formulas.”
Jeff McNeil is quietly putting together an amazing 2026 season….
.314 BA
.801 OPS
.379 OBP
32 H
1 HR
12 RBI
Reminder, the Mets sent the A’s $6 million to take him.
