ζ’(s)/ζ(s) is the logarithmic derivative of the Riemann Zeta Function & reveals zeros via its poles.
RH proof hinges on showing no nontrivial zeros exist elsewhere, other than on the critical line.
Since primality is infinite, proof by contradiction seems the likely path.
@jam_Omni@thomasfbloom I am talking about why the infinite set has the property, not claiming that every conceivable RH proof must have a particular form.
@nasqret It implies off-line zeroes create a hidden violation of prime composition consistency.
The argument being multiplicative purity forbids asymmetry, but an off-line zero does not necessarily make any integer have two different factorizations.
@ericweinstein Ai advancing might simply become leveraged stupidity for humans who acquiesce. The next generation won’t learn or understand how to formalize. Those who remain capable of abstraction will have tremendous influence.
@asmah2107 You are describing the problem of concurrency.
See Leslie Lamport’s bakery algorithm for mutual exclusion solution of the general case of N process.
@ericweinstein@skdh I think I get this…..Majorana is its own antiparticle, considered to be both matter and antimatter. Akin to being Christ and Anti-Christ simultaneously.
Unlike Dirac having an antimatter counterpart, analogous to Christ being distinct from Anti-Christ.
@edfrenkel Look forward to it.
Three other interesting properties -
1) sum of cubes for first nine positive integers: 1³ + 2³ + 3³ + 4³ + 5³ + 6³ + 7³ + 8³ + 9³ = 2025
2) sum of three perfect squares: 40² + 20² + 5² = 2025
3) (20+25) × (20+25) or 45² = 2025
@skylarromines $40b seems upper limit to rebuild ~15k homes, at an average $2.5m per home (replacement cost vs actual cash value).
Insurers do a poor job of recognizing tail risk. Reserving for +3StDev catastrophic event doesn’t sit well with shareholders.
@iavins See Leslie Lamport’s bakery algorithm for mutual exclusion solution of the general case of N process.
Instead of prioritizing the lowest process ID, highest process ID would receive priority.
The duality, a random thinning on one hand (PNT) & persistence of pattern on the other (TPC), suggests primes are neither completely random nor fully patterned but may instead exhibit ‘structured randomness’. Reconciling this tension appears fundamental to solving the RH.
@edfrenkel Really enjoyed Episode 1, so well done. Smiled at the end, when you discussed Vladimir Vapnik &
world intelligence.
He also said in that same podcast -
"Math is language which uses God”.
Abstraction only made possible via the divine spark residing within each human being.
Statistically w/10k possible codes, if people’s choices were uniformly & randomly distributed, we’d expect most popular 61 codes to represent 0.61% of the total, not 33%.
Human behavior drives common pattern selection.
Dear @FAANews
I recently flew domestically (details available upon request).
Cockpit door was secured by a 4 digit keypad.
🔢
4^4=256
and
10^4=10,000
On a 10 digit keypad, 1/3 of all 4 digit PINs can be guessed by trying only 61 distinct permutations (frequency distribution).
It is with great sadness that the Simons Foundation announces the death of its co-founder and chair emeritus, James Harris Simons. Jim was an award-winning mathematician, a legendary investor and a generous philanthropist. https://t.co/w48DhauUVj
