Unfortunately, IHRA is not an effective tool for confronting antizionism. It emerged legitimately as a response to the explosion of antizionism in the early 2000s, which many Jews intuitively registered as hatred against Jews. However, rather than naming and thematizing antizionism as such, it throws classical antisemitic claims together with antizionist tropes such as "comparing Israel to Nazis" or treating "Zionism as racism," leaving antizionism implicit as an active hate movement.

The result is a lack of clarity, a failure to translate Jewish concerns and experience to the broader public, perpetuating politicized "debates" about the reality of Jewish lived experience—debates which simply dissolve the moment antizionism is named and thematized as it is.

He didn't rush. He walked the field of shoes. He stood in front of the wall of faces and read the names. And there he met May Hayat, who danced at Nova music festival on the morning of October 7th, and survived. They talked for a long time. What he saw there stayed with him, and a short time after his visit, it became a song: "We Will Dance Again." That phrase was never a slogan. It's what the survivors started saying to each other in the weeks after, when nobody could imagine music again.
To hear it come back to us from someone who walked through this exhibition, and understood that this phrase means something.

In Buddhism we understand that every action comes with a consequence. Due to my decision to stand up for my Jewish friends I am losing a few people from my life. Today I parted company with Tony Pontius who has run my record label BGP for a number of years. I wanted to release 'We Will Dance Again' but he was unequivocal and said 'I want nothing to do with this song' and I responded 'ok, we are done'.
When someone is gutless it really does not hurt to say goodbye. My faith in humanity will not diminish and the truth will always win.
