Ms. Pierce

Your favorite English teacher.

Giving myself a week to “do nothing” which means I will be violently depressed and posting concerning song lyrics by Thursday

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Testing, man. The process of testing is such a complicated ordeal. I walked THREE MILES today supporting proctor. Three. Miles.

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

It’s wild how many people are shocked when I point out that my main classroom management tip is to treat students like they’re… wait for it… people. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Celebrated the life of a student today, and I am heartened and heartbroken. Charlie left such a huge impression in his short life. We’re all better for knowing him and the kindness and passion he brought to the world. May his memory be a blessing.

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Well darn. I’m as much a sucker for a cute guy who can play the guitar now as I was in high school. Perhaps I’m just a bad as my student. 😬😅

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

PS you’re all still my lovely and talented little cherubs. Let’s not forget this. 👼🏼

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Only talked down two teen girls crying over gross boys with bad hair this v-day. Gals we are not settling for smelly dudes with poorly permed hair. Remember these words of wisdom.

Abbott Elementary this week! Ava! The gift! Ugh! 😭

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Man… working w/ teenagers when you’re a full grown adult is humbling. Not me being caught by a student when gushing about a cute boy (ok a MAN—we’re adults) and then reminding me the advice I offered her last Valentine’s days 😅😬💀she closed w/ “Miss, no simping” 😑🙃

"Women get bored with Leonardo DiCaprio about when they hit their mid-20s" is an objectively funnier explanation.

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

@aubrieaug Girl! I’ve got you. It’s all about the Danskin brand stuff at TJ Maxx. Squat proof, high quality—highly recommend! Also old navy is solid too!

[Marana Unified @MaranaSchools]

We are #MUSDproud of the 12 graduating seniors from Marana High School, Mountain View High School and MCAT High School who were selected to receive a $2,500 Scholarship from Marana Schools 2340 Foundation! Scholarships are awarded to students who have attended MUSD from kinde ...

[Ms. Pierce @IamMsPierce]

Well lemme tell you—teacher friends turned full blown real life friends are the best.

[Benjamin Partridge @benpartridge]

So they've got rid of the sexy green M&M but we've still got the fit AF Quaker Oats guy with his soft white hair and come to bed hat.

[Jay Wamsted @JayWamsted]

Step One: Keep schools underfunded so class sizes are too large to manage for even the best of teachers

Step Two: Complain that schools are poorly run

Step Three: Send tax money to private schools, claim a break for the rich is "for the children"

Step Four: Repeat Step One

[Tim Wise @timjacobwise]

Gonna pretty much keep posting this one every MLK day so long as the right keeps up its distortions and lies. Which means, likely, forever…

“This country has socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor."

Say it louder for the people in the back…

[Melanie D'Arrigo @DarrigoMelanie]

Republicans will quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr while trying to pass laws preventing children from learning why.

His name is Keenan Anderson, and he was a high school teacher. Police tased Keenan to death after he was involved in a traffic accident. They treat us worse than animals.
