So I’m going to give my all to every - thing…..pray while at it and hopefully every water finds its own space and level.
I’m to do with whatever stays😊
Quoting this years after? Yeah🙏🏾😊
I looked at the statement again.
Then I pushed it back toward him.
“I don’t want $1,200.”
He looked confused.
“What do you want?”
“I want you to notice me before I have to disappear for you to realize I’m here.”
He started crying.
He admitted he’d become so comfortable with me that he’d stopped making an effort.
He assumed I’d always understand.
Always forgive him.
Always be there.
And because I usually was, he had convinced himself that I didn’t need the same attention I gave everyone else.
I told him I wasn’t leaving our marriage that morning.
But things had to change.
We started going on dates again.
He began planning things without waiting for me to organize everything.
He started remembering the little details.
Not perfectly.
But sincerely.
A year later, on my birthday, I woke up to breakfast in bed.
My children came running in with handmade cards.
My husband followed with a small box.
Inside was a bracelet I’d admired months earlier.
I looked at him.
“You remembered?”
He smiled.
“I wrote it down.”
I laughed, then hugged him.
That evening, after the children went to bed, he asked me something.
“Do you still remember the birthday I forgot?”
I nodded.
“Of course.”
He looked ashamed.
I took his hand.
“I remember it because that was the day I stopped assuming that loving someone meant accepting whatever they gave me.”
He went quiet.
Then I kissed him.
Because our marriage had survived that moment.
But I never forgot the lesson.
Being taken for granted doesn’t always begin with cruelty. Sometimes, it begins when someone becomes so certain you’ll stay that they stop remembering to show you why you should.
@ronkecarew Aunty, comment o, If it doesn’t help her, it will help others..
My only concern for her seems sorted, she’s not jobless….may Allah guide her
Guess what guys??? This babe like trouble😭😂😭😂
She sent me a link.
No context.
Just:
“Babe 😂😂😂 you need to see this.”
First of all…
BABE?😳
Seems they have upgraded me o😊😊🥹🥹
We have entered new territory. 😌
See, I stared at the message for about five seconds. More at the “babe” than the other parts of the message😂
Then I looked at the link.
Something wasn’t right.
I asked:
“Where did you get this?”
She said:
“Someone sent it to me.”
“Who?”
“My friend.”
“What’s the website?”
“Why are you interrogating me? Just click it.”
😂
I told her I wasn’t clicking anything until I verified where the link came from.
She replied:
“It’s literally just a link.”
I said:
“That’s exactly what a suspicious link would say.”
She sent three laughing emojis.
Then:
“Are you like this with everybody?”
I said:
“Only people I don’t want to see get hacked.”
She went quiet.
Then she replied:
“Awww. So you care about me.” 🥹
Make Una see problem I put myself o.
The link was no longer the biggest threat.
My feelings were. 😭
I eventually asked her to send me a screenshot instead. But she sent a video
Turns out it was a funny video.
I watched it.
It was actually hilarious.
She said:
“See? You nearly missed it because of your cybersecurity wahala.”
I said:
“Security first. Laughing second.”
She replied:
“Okay o, Mr SOC Analyst.”
I’m starting to think she enjoys whining me.
And honestly…
I’m not complaining.
Cybersecurity takeaway
A link doesn’t become safe simply because it came from someone you trust. Their account could be compromised, or they may not know the link is malicious.
When a message feels unusual, pause and verify before clicking.
Especially when the message starts with:
“Babe, click this.” 😂
Day 4 status: Link verified, not malicious.
LOML status: increasingly suspicious. 😌
Pls lock in, read everyday, publish on LinkedIn, cold emails without shame and stop crying over spilled milk that you didn’t graduate with a first class
As terrible as humans can be….
I find it easier when I do favour for Allah’s sake, I prefer to be repaid by God….My heart is too fragile to handle disappointments
