In this case, a father used to scold his daughter for using her phone all day. Frustrated, the girl called the Child Welfare Committee, and the Committee allegedly intimidated her into filing a POCSO case against her own father. As a result, the father had to spend nearly a month in jail.

Now tell me, who was actually exploited here the father who went to jail, or the daughter who filed a false POCSO case against her own father?

According to the court, the girl suffered mental harassment, and therefore she should receive ₹1 lakh as compensation. Another notable point is that there is no mention of the girl’s mother at all. Did she really have no role in this entire incident?

I probably shouldn’t say this, but situations like these can sometimes encourage the misuse of laws in the future. Anyway, the CWC officials have also been pulled up.

After reading this order, one can easily understand that in India, filing a false case is easier than ordering a PIZZA.

However, the father will still have to face social humiliation because he has only been granted bail the case is still ongoing. Who knows when the girl may change her statement in the future, or when someone may influence her testimony.

The Gujarat High Court upheld a 660-day jail sentence for maintenance default even though the husband admitted he had no movable or immovable property and was unable to pay the arrears.

His financial incapacity was recorded, yet non-payment led to imprisonment for 66 months of default.

Despite voluntarily appearing before the court, admitting liability, and seeking leniency, no relief or time for payment was granted, and the sentence was imposed solely on the basis of unpaid maintenance.
