I delivered a keynote address at the Inaugural International ADR Week 2025. The inaugural ADR week is a critical platform for reflecting on the revolution of dispute resolution, innovating strategies, and strengthening the practice of arbitration, mediation, adjudication, and other forms of alternative dispute settlement. Importantly, it provides a shared space to reaffirm our collective commitment to ensuring that justice is delivered efficiently, fairly, affordably, and in a manner that inspires confidence.
The theme of this inaugural ADR week, Strengthening ADR Practice through Evidence-Based Excellence, is timely, strategic, and deeply resonates with Kenya’s Judiciary’s transformation agenda. Evidence-based excellence is the foundation upon which world-class justice systems are built, and it is the standard to which we must collectively aspire.
Under the Social Transformation Through Access to Justice (STAJ) blueprint, the Kenyan Judiciary has championed the Multi-Door Approach to Justice as a model of access, efficiency, and people-centered service delivery. The focus of the Judiciary on widening and expanding access to justice through opening of multiple pathways to justice seeks to encourage a more people-centred approach to dispute resolution, as well as promotion harmony and understanding within the society.
