I believe Igor Jesus’ goal should have stood. Yirenkyi goes down, VAR says Jesus clips his heel, but honestly, it’s incredibly soft.

Yes, there’s contact. I’m not denying that. But is that really enough to overturn a goal? I’ve seen much more contact allowed to go, and that inconsistency is becoming impossible to ignore.

Forest were on the receiving end of a horrible VAR decision today. When you look at the replay, you’re asking yourself how that can possibly be enough to rule out a goal.

It feels like VAR is searching for reasons to intervene instead of looking for clear and obvious errors. If this is the standard now, then every goal, every challenge and every bit of contact is going to be dragged under the microscope.

Forest had every right to feel furious. They fought for the result, found the breakthrough, and then watched it get wiped out over a touch that barely looked like a foul.

That decision completely changed the mood of the game. Instead of talking about Forest’s performance, everyone is talking about another baffling VAR call. That tells you everything.

They’ve lost the game, and that’s football. But this wasn’t just a minor decision. It was a massive moment, and in my opinion, Forest were badly let down by VAR.

If that goal is disallowed, then officials need to explain exactly what the threshold is. Because right now, nobody seems to know. The rules look different every week, and supporters are left feeling like the outcome depends on whoever is sitting in the VAR room.

Forest will feel robbed tonight, and honestly, I can understand why. That was not a clear and obvious error. It was VAR involving itself in a decision that should never have been overturned.”

People are free to protest in anyway shape or form that they like but protesting against a charitable organisation where many of them are merely volunteers is a futile process.

Having lived by the sea all my life and having spent a lot of time on the water I’ve seen first hand what a great job these guys do.

To be clear, their role is to help those that might need it whilst on the water and without prejudice, it’s an extremely dangerous game to suggest that some human lives are prioritised over others.

Let them do their job, let them stay apolitical and fight the battle elsewhere.
