The Vancouver School Board has unanimously approved changing the name of Lord Roberts Elementary.

It follows a multi-year campaign by the parent advisory council, who said the name was inappropriate given Roberts' use of concentration camps during the Boer War.

@IanRowebot @j_mcelroy Disappointing that VSB pushes this "we are trapped" narrative when the Long Range Facilities Plan is clearly 100% in the domain of the VSB to "challenge the status quo" (that's the Ministry's guideline!) and plan its future with local Govs.
