#Surgeons: It’s Time to Heal the Healer.
Prof. Samuel Luboga, shared a vital message on the hidden crises in the surgical profession.
Burnout is more than just fatigue—it's a systemic issue we can no longer ignore.
The Reality Check:
-Neglected Relationships: Our work shouldn't come at the cost of our closest bonds.
-The Weight of Litigation: The fear of legal consequences is a heavy, silent burden.
-Critical Stats: Burnout is real. Surgeons currently have the 2nd highest suicide rate in medicine.
Prof. Luboga’s Recommendations:
1️⃣ Abandon the "Messiah Mentality." You are not a savior. Your exhaustion profits no one.
2️⃣ Restore Balance. You cannot save everyone. Boundaries protect your longevity.
3️⃣ Fuel Your Body. Prioritize hydration and a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
4️⃣ Find Your Circle. Don’t suffer in silence. Get an accountability partner.
Let’s start the conversation. How do you maintain balance in a high-pressure field? 👇
