We represent over 140,000 skilled craftspeople, united by our commitment to winning better workplaces, being the best at our crafts, and improving the lives of entertainment workers and their families.
The San Diego Convention Center floor is now 100% union! IT Technicians and Event Coordinators employed by Smart City Networks voted overwhelmingly to join IATSE Local 122, becoming the last group at the facility to unionize.
These workers power the internet infrastructure behind some of the biggest events in the country, from San Diego Comic-Con to major industry conferences drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees. They deserved a seat at the table, and now they have one. Welcome to the union, Smart City crew! 💪

Producers of the upcoming feature film "Ethan Almighty" have signed a union agreement with IATSE covering the production crew filming in Bardstown, Kentucky!
This deal means the crew members working behind the scenes will have the wages, benefits, and working conditions they deserve. Congratulations to the workers who stood together to get this deal done!
This #MemorialDay, we honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country and our freedoms. As union members, we proudly carry forward the values of unity, sacrifice, and solidarity by continuing the fight for fairness, dignity, and a stronger future for all workers.
IATSE members in Los Angeles stepped up to fight hunger during the recent @NALC_National Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive!
Joining forces with Labor Community Services and the LA County Federation of Labor, members and leaders from various WCSLs came together May 9th to sort tons of food, which had been collected by members of the National Association of Letter Carriers, for distribution to those in need.
A special shout-out to Local 800 for sponsoring the event and providing lunch to volunteers at the Griffith Post Office, and to Local 44 for assisting throughout the day.
IATSE Local 868 & B868 members and allies held an informational picket outside the Kennedy Center to protest the Center using a temporary shutdown to permanently eliminate union jobs.
Congressman @RepDarrenSoto (D-FL) came and stood in solidarity with the workers!
IATSE has reached an agreement with the producers of Beast Games season 3!
The new contract covers more than 500 crew members working on the production, which is based in Greenville, N.C. Members working on the show will receive back pay and benefits for pre-production work that has already been completed and will remain covered by this agreement for this season and subsequent seasons.
The last season of the competition-style reality series was made under IATSE agreements, but producers started production of the third season non-union. As a result, IATSE members and Locals across the United States made a collective push to organize this large-scale production, which was co-created and is hosted by YouTube personality MrBeast.
Our new polling shows that more than 90% of workers favor protections from AI for their jobs and privacy and trust unions to deliver over either political party. Workers are united and ready to fight for an AI future that works for them, not just big tech. https://t.co/bV1hxFAp3X
IATSE condemns the recent decision issued by the Supreme Court affecting Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) of 1965.
The decision by the Supreme Court to allow redistricting practices that dilute the voting strength of historically underrepresented communities raises serious concerns when it comes to political representation. Over time, changes in political representation can drastically shape the laws, labor standards, and economic opportunities that affect working people. Ultimately, it matters who has a seat at the table and how they are elected.
Worker power and political representation have always been interconnected. History has shown that attacks on political representation have often gone hand-in-hand with anti-union policies, including wage suppression, weakened labor protections, and exclusion from economic opportunity.

Congratulations to the crew of the San Diego Musical Theatre on their new union with IATSE Local 122!
Patricia Lutz, Wardrobe Supervisor, spoke on the importance of winning collective representation: “Having union representation means I have a voice, that I am not alone when it comes to holding the company accountable for safety and working conditions. I am looking forward to working with the company to make much needed improvements and to have better job security.”
IATSE is ON STRIKE against CoComelon: The Melon Patch, a live-action spin-off of the union-made animated series.
Rather than provide fair wages and benefits to the crew the producer is trying to hire scabs for the production that’s shooting in Sun Valley, Calif.
The AFM issued the following statement regarding Kennedy Center management’s decision to terminate @IATSE members: “AFM and IATSE always stand together. We must never tolerate violations of our contracts. The members of Locals 868 and B-868 are an essential part of the Kennedy Center. These workers bring communities together. The AFM joins IATSE in calling for the Kennedy Center to restore these jobs immediately.”

🚨 BREAKING: IATSE is condemning management of the Kennedy Center, alleging the Center is violating its union contract and laying off workers without meeting its legal obligation to bargain.
During bargaining last week, the Kennedy Center confirmed it has laid off or terminated all workers in its Instant Charge and Group Sales and Subscription departments, effective April 27, more than two months before the temporary closure begins. Management also confirmed it will not replace the work.
“This is not a normal closure-related layoff,” said International President Matthew D. Loeb. “The Kennedy Center appears to be using a temporary closure as cover to permanently eliminate union jobs in violation of its contract and federal labor law.”
Join your Los Angeles area brothers, sisters, and kin marching in solidarity in the labor movement's May Day parade tomorrow!
IATSE members are asked to arrive between 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the corner of South Park View St. & Wilshire Boulevard, across from the Charles White Elementary School.
